The Maddogs got back to .500 at 4-4 by beating the West Roxbury Broncos 8-3. Starter Sean Gildea picked up his second win of the season and went into the 6th inning before running out of gas. Buddy Hanley came into the game with the score 5-3 and runners on 2nd and 3rd. After getting the first batter he faced on strikes Hanley hit the next batter to load the bases then struck out the side. After the Maddogs tacked on 3 more runs in the top of the 7th Hanley came back in the 7th and again struck out the side. Catcher Matt Cooney had 2 hits and 3 RBI's and left fielder Joe Sheehan had a huge night with 3 hits, 2 runs and an RBI. For the Broncos both Carey and Sheehan had 2 hits. Szathmary went the distance on the hill in a gutsy effort picking up 5 K's.
