Leo Corcoran took a no hitter into the 6th inning and settled for 6 innings of 1-hit shutout ball to lead the A's in the clinching game and send them to the finals for the first time since 1996.

John Kostas pitched the final frame of the 10-0 game as 5 players collected 2 hits apiece in the balanced attack.

Chris Malloy, Brian Powers and Jim Schindler drove in 2 runs apiece for the Al Thomas Club, which played solid defense again to back its pitcher.

Congratulations to a strong, young Medford team in its second year in the Yawkey League, with many more victories to come.

Matt Thayer's 2-out grounder skipped into left field to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning as the A's won a seesaw game, 4-3.

Medford took a 1-0 lead on a passed ball in the 4th. Sean Gildea held the A's hitless until the 6th inning, when Chris Bucci's infield hit started a 2-run rally.

Medford took the lead in the top of the 7th on a Jay Sablone double and an error, but Al Thomas tied it in the bottom of the inning as Greg Lovely beat out an infield grounder with 2 outs and the bases loaded.

John Kostas pitched a scoreless 8th inning for the A's. Andy Doyle led off the bottom of the 8th with a booming triple to right center, and after 2 intentional walks and 2 outs, Thayer's ball plated Brian Powers with the winning run.

Aidan Powers threw the first 7 innings for the A's, yielding 1 earned run, striking out 7.

Doyle led the offense with a double and triple, while Sablone's 2 doubles and Buddy Hanle

Brian Powers singled in Chris Bucci from 3rd in the bottom of the 6th for the only run of the game in this classic pitching duel between rookie Scott Jamieson and Eamon McDonough.

In a game that lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes, Jamieson scattered 4 hits in outdueling McDonough, as the A's take a 1-0 lead in the semifinal series.

Peter Moores threw out the potential go-ahead run in the top of the 6th on a base hit to left in a game that featured many defensive gems.

In the bottom of the 6th, Bucci led off with a single, moved to 2nd on a Greg Lovely base hit, to third on an Andy Doyle fielder's choice, and scored on Powers' 2-out base hit.

This was one for the books. The Rockies' backs were to the wall down 2 games to none and they came out swinging. Revere took a 7-0 lead after the top of the 4th. Lead off hitter Buccarelli had 3 hits and a walk. Close, Moran and Roper each had 2 hits for the Rockies.

Medford never quit. They scored 3 in the bottom of the 4th paced by doubles by Buddy Hanley and Scotty Lynch. The Dogs tied it at 7 in the last of the 5th on 6 hits, the big one being a Pete McKeown double.

After falling behind again by a run, with one out in the top of the 6th Sean Gildea came on in relief of starter, Sean Morrissey, with the bases loaded, Gildea got 2 outs without allowing any more damage.

The Dogs tied it again in the last of the 6th on a Johnny Cunningham single, a passed ball and a Joe Sheehan single.

After Mike Hudd pitched a scoreless 8th inning, Joe Sheehan hit a 2-out double and Jay Sablone won it with the walk off single.

Sean Gildea turned in a masterful performance, going the distance, striking out 8 and walking only 1. With the help of a double play, a caught stealing and a pick off, Gildea pitched to only 4 batters over the limit.

Pete McKeown had 2 hits, including a triple. Mike Hudd scored twice and had a hit. Buddy Hanley added a hit and a walk with a run and Jay Sablone knocked in a run with a sac fly and was hit by 2 pitches.

The Big E-Dog, Eammon McDonough went the distance striking out 5 and walking only 1. Eamonn helped himself out defensively with a put out and 4 assists.

Johnny Cunningham doubled in 2 runs and Joe Sheehan knocked in the third run. Pete McKeown had 2 hits and scored a run.

McCarthy and Guarino pitched well for the Rockies striking out 8. Close triples in the Rockies only run with a bomb down the right field line.

19yo, Gary Dalton has been solid all summer. He won the game (his 4th) by holding Medford down in the last two innings. Gary has been a smart/hearty pitcher all year. He showed great guts this afternoon!

A game to remember! Two of the top Yawkey league teams hooked up in a classic battle.
Somerville came out on top behind a great pitching performance by Stud righthander Marc DesRoches. DesRoches and E.McDonough throw complete games with McDonough suffering his first lost of the season. "Great Job Guys"
Offense was lead by Dave Scioli and Scott Rodgers each with 2 hits and 1 RBI....Kevin White scored two runs and had a big two out triple to rightcenter then scored on Tom Mcdonough clutch single to leftcenter.
McKeown had two extra base hits for Medford.

ComCast missed a great one!

Gildea and Gillis locked horns in a great pitchers duel. Gildea came out on top, barely.

After Johnny Cunningham reached on an infield hit he stole second and scored the only run of the game on a Pete McKeown opposite field hit.

Diving catches by McKeown and Scotty Lynch clinched it for Gildea.

Gildea improved his record on the Season to 8-2.

Medford wins their 5th game to g along with a tie in the past 5 days. Sean Gildea went the distance striking out 11 and walking 3.

Medford fell behind early and tied it in the 4th when Joe Pasciucco knocked in Mike Hudd. Medford fell behind again in the last of the 6th but came back to take the lead in the top of the 7th. After Pasciucco was hit by a pitch, Johnny Cunningham walked, Joe Sheehan singled knocking in Pasciucco and Buddy Hanley knocked in Cunningham on a ground ball.

Gildea threw a 1-2-3 7th to hold on to the win.

Bautista pitched a great game for the South End. He went 7innings, striking out 4 and walking 4 and only giving up 6 hits.

Starter Scotty Lynch went down with arm trouble with 1 out in the 2nd inning and runners on 1st and 3rd. Buddy Hanley stepped in and struck out the first batter he faced and Johnny Cunningham made a great diving catch on a line drive up the middle to end the threat.

Hanley pitched through the 6th. Joe Pasciucco, making his first appearance of the year, finished the last 2 innings and picked up his first win of the Season.

Hanley also tripled and knocked in Jay Sablone with the game winner with 2 outs in the 8th and scored an insurance run when the throw home got away.

Marc Crovo and Lynch also tripled in the game. Crovo was 2 for 2 with a walk and a stolen base. Crovo has been a work horse for Medford catching 38 innings in the past 4 days.

Believe it or not, in the second game of a doubleheader, the Big E-Unit, Eamonn McDonough went the distance in a 9 inning Tie after going the distance in a 7 inning win, giving him 16 innings pitched on the day. Eamonn walked only "1" batter all day while striking out 15 and giving up 14 hits.

Casey pitched the first game for Cambridge and came back to throw the last 3 innings in relief. This was just good old fashion GUTS. A great day of baseball in the YBL.

Mike Hudd had 3 hits and Buddy Hanley had 2 hits for the Maddogs.

The Maddogs have been a thorn in the side for the Rockies as of lately. Luckily the tide turned tonight, as the Rockies shutout Medford 6-0. Ken Kilduff picked up his second win of the season while allowing just 1 hit and striking out 8. Mike McCarthy picthed 2 scoreless and hitless innings of relief. AJ Bucciarelli led the offense going 2-2, 1R, 2RBI, 3BB, 1B, 2B.

Morrissey picked up the loss for Medford, but went the distance.

The bats finally woke up for Medford. Buddy Hanley, Joe Sheehan, Jay Sablone and Pete McKeown each had 2 hits.

Lead off hitter Johhny Cunningham walked 3 times and scored twice. Joe Pasciucco walked twice and was hit by a pitch.

Gary Del Rossi, Marc Crovo and Mike Hudd each chipped in with a hit.

Eleven innings of guts by the "Big-E Dog", Eamonn McDonough. The last 5 and 1/3 innings of perfect ball, giving Eamonn his 5th win and a perfect record of 5-0.

Eamonn had the ground ball going. 8 assists by shortstop, Buddy Hanley. 5 assists by thirdbaseman, Scott Lynch. And 4 assists by secondbaseman, Johnny Cunningham.

Tenney and Dacey did their part on the mound for the Saints. Tenney went the first 5 innings and Dacey went the last 6. The Maddogs loaded the bases in the 8th and 10th but couldn't push the game winner across the plate.

With one out in the bottom of the 11th Johnny Cunningham singled. Buddy Hanley follwed with another single moving Cunningham to third. Joe Sheehan knocked in the game winner with a sacrifice fly to left.

Pete McKeown had two doubles for Medford and Jay Sablone added a double of his own, knocking in 2 runs.

Sean Morrissey went five and two thirds innings to pick up his second win of the year. After a rocky start Morrissey settled in and was dominating through the middle innnings. Sean Gildea came in with two outs in the sixth and got his first save of the Season.

Catcher, Marc Crovo, went 2 for 2 with a walk and 2 RBI's to lead the Medford attack. First Baseman, Jay Sablone extended his hit streak to 5 games with a couple of hits and an RBI and shortstop, Buddy Hanley, also extended his hit streak to 5 games with a hit.

Scotty Lynch added two hits and Joe Sheehan added a hit to round off the offense.

Both Buddy Hanley and Jay Sablone extended their hitting streaks to 4 games. Sablone also knocked in 2 runs and scored a run while Hanley knocked in 1 and scored 1.

Catcher Mark Crovo threw out his 5th would be base stealer in 7 attempts. Crovo also added a hit, walk and 3 stolen bases.

John White picked up a tough loss going the distance on the mound for the Bull Dogs striking out 6 along the way.

After some early inning trouble, Sean Gildea settled down and made a 2 run lead stand up. Gildea struck out 13 and pitched out of a bases loaded, one out jam in the 6th. Gildea improved his record to 2-1.

Mike Hudd knocked in 2 runs and Buddy Hanley and Joe Pasciucco knocked in the go ahead runs for Medford.

Eamonn McDonough and Aiden Powers battled it out with McDonough coming out on top. In the 1st inning DH Jay Sablone knocked in Johnny Cunningham with a Sac Fly for the only run of the game and McDonough made it stand up.

Eamonn struck out 7, walked none and allowed 2 singles. This is McDonough's second consecutive 1-0 win to start the Season.

Sean Morrissey picked up his first YBL win, going 6 innings, striking out 5 and allowing only 2 hits. Buddy Hanley picked up his first save of the year.

The Medford defense turned 3 double plays and Marc Crovo threw out the only would be base stealer to keep it close.

After shortstop Bud Hanley tied the game in the 4th inning with a clutch 2-out single, center fielder Pete McKeown knocked in the go ahead runs with a double and scored what turned out to be the winning run on a Joe Sheehan single.

Despite horrible weather conditions the Maddogs hung on to win in the bottom of the 7th. Sean Gildea went the distance to record his first win of the Season and even his record at 1-1. Gildea struck out 7 along the way. DH Jay Sablone scored 2 runs for Medford.

Whitmore put in a valient effort for the Brookline squad and held the Dogs to 4 hits and 3 runs through 6.

Shawn Nadeau pitched 5 stong innings allowing only 2 earned runs and Dave Scioli led the hit attack with 4 hits and 2 rbi to lead Somerville to its 3rd win of the young season. Mark Desroches added to the offense 2-3 with 3 rbi to help the cause. Somerville improves to 3-0.

Eamonn McDonough picked up where he left off last year. Eamonn opened the Maddogs season with a 2-hit shutout, striking out 9 while walking only 2, 1 of which was intentional. Johnny Johanson knocked in Mike Hudd for the only run of the game.

Bill Beauchesne pitched a gem of his own for the Bluefish. Beauchesne struck out 5 and walked 3 while only giving up 5 singles.
