Mike Smith (1-0) complete game shutout at Rogers, 7-0. The Braves jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back. Doubles by Billy Uberti, Hector Coscione, and Ari Glantz led the way. Glantz had a two rbi single in the third and Smith scorched a triple in the sixth to finish the scoring.

Kenny Luongo had a long triple in the fourth, but died at third.

Its an Oliverias Steakhouse night at the Wood. EBKs own Mike Olivieria faced off against cousin Cam Oliviera of Malden.
On a full moon at Maplewood the Knights get off to a quick start by RBI singles by Luongo and Maynard in the 1st. Luongo was vintage like his YBL Cy Young winning days playing home games at Maplewood. Luongo struck out 8 Maddogs in 3 innings. Knights come up with 8 in the 3rd and no let up. Bennett pitched the last 3 and only let up 2 hits. Bright spot for Malden is a base hit by Argentsigner to break up a combined no no.

Zack Rice hits a game winning 2 RBI single in the 6th, to help the Sabers edge the Knights 5-4

EBK got on the board first, with a blast from Kenny Luongo and a Polanco RBI single.

In the 2nd, Quezada would blast a ball into the trees at Rec, but it would hit a tree and come back into play for only a double. Sabers would leave him stranded.

Sabers chipped away with an Agiorgousis RBI single to plate Rice.

Quezada would tie the game in the 4th with a sac fly.

Luongo would put the Knights back up with a RBI single.

Stoneham would load the bases in the 6th. Lenane would single, Flanagan would move him over with a bunt, Quezada would be intentionally walked and a Cave HBP. To set up a 2 RBI single by Rice, that would eventually clear the bases to score Cave on an over throw.

EBK would threaten in the 7th, but leave the tying run stranded on third.

Pizarro's diving catch saves runs in 6th.

Rice would hit a game winning 2 RBI single.

Smith strikes out 6 over 6 scattering 9 hits to improve to 7-1. Beatrice allowed a lead off double but got 2 strike outs and a line out to pick up the save.

Post led the Braves offense going 3-4, 2B, RBI, R. Glantz (3B, RBI) and Walsh (2B, R) also each went 1-2 with a BB.

Braves score 2 in the 1st on an RBI double from Coscione and an RBI single from Post. EBK matches in the bottom half on a 2 run Villalona double. Braves take the lead back in the 2nd on a Walsh double and Lindquist single up the middle.

EBK evens it up in the 4th on a Danielson hot shot grounder over the 3rd base bag that just kept rolling.

Braves take the lead for good in the 6th on a Post single, McLaughlin double, a wild pitch and a Glantz triple.

Kennedy-Smith pitches a gem going 5 2/3 of 1 run ball for a win in his first start. He allowed 4 hits and struck out 4. Beatrice came in the 7th for the save.

With the bases loaded in the 1st, Tracy blooped a shallow liner to right, just out of Oliveria's reach to plate 2 for the Braves. The Braves add another in the 2nd on a Joyce double and Tracy scores in the 3rd on an overthrow on a first and third stolen base attempt.

Harris score for EBK in the 3rd on a Beckerman Sac-Fly. Oliveria doubled to lead off the 7th, moves to third on a grounder to first and scores on a grounder to short.

EBK led the entire way but the Blacksox chipped away with 3 runs in yhe 6th and 7th to tie the game. Kenny Polanco hit a leadoff triple in the 7th to set the stage for Beckerman. Nicholson was the tough luck loser as he went the distance for the Sox.

Cummings scattered 4 hits, striking out 3 to earn his 2nd win of the season. Cummings 3 strikeouts, would be good enough for the 200th of his career!

The Sabers would get on the board first and not look back. After Nick Powers smashed a double, Angelo Colucci would drive him in with an RBI single.

The Sabers would add 5 more in the 3rd. Tommy Lenane would hit a 2RBI single and Colucci would follow with a RBI single of his own. Dionys Quezada and Josh Creamer would also have RBIS in the inning.

Sean Moynihan would hit in a run in the 6th. Lenane would hit yet another 2 RBI single in the 7th for insurance.

Danny Lumb and Corey McNamara closed out the game for the Sabers.

Polanco blasted a double for the Knights.



Cummings recorded his 200th career YBL strikeout. Colucci had 4 hits and Lenane had 4 RBI for Stoneham.

Jonny Argetsinger was the hero, with the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 11th to knock home Ryan Garber who led off the 11th with a single through the left side.

Joe Klingensmith closes the final two frames to get the win. The first batter he faced in the 10th hit a lead off 3B, but Kling got out of the jam, and retired 6 straight batters to finish the game.

Pete Maltzan paced Malden with 3 hits at the top of the order. Maddogs next, travel to play Savin Hill Thursday night.

EBK starts the season off with a nice win against the defending runner ups. Knights knocked out 13 hits including one memorable bomb by newcomer Julian Alvarez that some how due to some weird ground rules was only a double. Alvarez,Polanco,Oliviera and Harris all had 2 hits. Knights also got some great pitching from arias,Hall,Somers and Camacho.
