South End comes from behind with a walk off in the bottom of the 7th with the bases loaded scoring Miguel Calderon off of Jose Toussen's bat and a play at the plate!

Esdras Rojas throws 6 strong innings handing it off to Leighton Helleberg for the 7th.

Anthony Baez went 2 for 4 on the day.

Brayan Then was on base 3 of 4 times with a double 2 stolen bases, and 2 runs scored.

Brad Presler went 2-4 with 2 stolen bases and 2 runs scored.

Brendan "The BIG Canuck" Huber makes his 2017 Yawkey League debut and gets the first win of the year for Savin Hill. Huber had a team season high 10 strikeouts as well as a team season high 5 hit batters. Rookie Luke Bakker, who continues to have an impressive first season, led the Dodgers with 5 RBIs on the day. Every Dodger player crossed the plate, with James Whittle, Clint Fontanella, and Doug Vinitsky each scoring twice. And the first Matchbox MVP of the 2017 season went to Brian Rizzo, who had to strap on a mitt and play on a day with a short roster with 2 hits and 2 RIBIs

Sabers finally get the bats rolling after being walked and hit 26 times in the last two games and defeat the Astros 12-2

Nick Powers went 4 strong letting up 2 runs, striking out 5 to earn his first career YBL win. Brundige and Sutton closed out the game for Stoneham.

In the 2nd, the Sabers would capitalize early on a series of walks and passed balls. Johnny Cave and Tommy Lenane would pitch in with RBIS of their own as well. That would be enough to get past the Astros.

Eric O'Brien and Zack Rice score 3 runs and Tommy Lenane had 2 hits for Stoneham.

The South End Astros played excellent defense, kept the ball around the plate, and just kept getting outs to tally up a combined No Hitter between Leighton Helleberg and Christopher Avila. 9 Hits on the day for the Astros gave them the 3rd inning lead that they would never let go. Cesarin Baez collected 2 hits including a double. Angel Pena had a hit of his own. Carlos Luis also collected a hit and reached twice on hard hit grounders the tough scorekeeper called errors while collecting an RBI. Miguel Calderon reached on an error and had a double with an RBI. Anthony Baez collected 2 hits and 2 RBI's for the Astros. Jaime Roldan had a double as well.

Uberti continues to stay hot at the dish going 2-3 with a double, 4 RBI, BB, HbP and 2 runs scored. Joyce led the offense with 3 hits, BB, 2 runs and an RBI.

Luis and Pena led the offense for the Astros collecting two hits a piece.

The South End Astros came out swinging today with 17 total hits in the game. RBI's came from Jose Toussen (5 on the day), Brad Presler (2 on the day) and Jordan Matos, Angel Pena, Aneury Lara, and Anthony Baez each with 1 on the day.
The defense was solid all around including an outfield assist coming from Cesarin Baez, cutting down a runner at the plate and a diving stop by Angel Pena on a liner up the middle.

Esdras Rojas gets the win (2 on the season) for the Astros throwing 5 solid innings with 8 strike outs.

Jovan Alexander came in to shut down the last inning pitched for the Astros collecting 2 strikeouts out of 3 batters faced.

Savin Hills Silverman takes the loss.

Leighton Helleberg threw 6 strong innings, giving up the first hit on an infield single in the 5th and ending his day with only 2 hits allowed and no runs scored in the 6-0 South End Astros victory over the Malden Maddogs.
Liam Moreno collected his first hit of his Yawkey career and an RBI came with it to start the Astros off in the first, scoring Jordan Matos (4 BB in the game).
Miguel Calderon drew the game open over two of his AB's driving in a total of 4 runs to secure the lead.
Cesarin Baez knocked in Calderon in the 4th for his first hit of the season.

The astros play again Sunday, 8pm Vs the McKay Club @ English.

Drake picked up the infield hit for Malden, and Argentsinger drove a curve for the first solid contact of the day in the 6th.

The South End Astros and New England College's Esdras Rojas scattered 6 hits while striking out 6 and only allowing one run to cross the plate in the very first inning of the season along with only the second in the 5th. Rojas earned his first complete game win for the season and the team in one game so far.

Anthony Baez led off his Yawkey career with a hard hit double. Jose Toussen continued his Astros career collecting his first hit of the season off a bat that died happy. Jordan Matos pinch hit with a solid double of his own. Connor Henry stayed with it til his last AB of the day to collect his first single of the season.

Great defensive work all around including 2 tough double plays and some great snags on some tough hops and high flies helped secure this great team win for the Astros.

For Savin Hill, Yee (on a 1B) and Diaz (on a SAC F8) picked up the RBI's.

Tuttle took the loss for Savin Hill after pitching 6 innings.
