Dionys Quezada hits a 3 run home run, that easily cleared Recreation Park's fence into the trees, as the Sabers defeat the Saints 5-1. Quezada is the first known player to hit a home run over the property line fencing.

Quezada stole the show, but Dave Montiverdi pitched 6 strong to earn the win. Montiverdi scattered 4 hits on 1 run, striking out 2 to earn his 2nd win of the season.

The Saints would score first on a Eschen single in the 3rd.

In the 5th, Tommy Lenane would smash a RBI triple to score Agiorgousis to knot up the game. He would then score on a passed ball. Angelo Colucci and Jon Chapman would then reach base to set up the games biggest hit. Quezada would smash a 3 run homer that would be about a 430 foot blast to put the game away.

Lyndon Brundige would then come in to close out the game in the 7th.

Dionys Quezada blasted a 3 run home run into the trees at Rec.

In the first meeting between the Braves and Saints we saw a pitchers duel tonight. The Braves started Cosicone with the Saints starting Shaw.
The Braves scored one in the 4th on a single by Smith and a RBI double from Tracy and would knock Shaw from the game. The Saints countered with Bousquet for the 5th and 6th and got into some trouble with a BB and a fielding error thereafter. With one out Uberti would tag from third and be thrown out on a seed by left fielder Gaines. Aizenstadt would follow in the 7th for a clean inning.
The Saints offense was kept quiet until the 7th being held to only one hit and a walk. Then Larocque started the 7th with an infield single and scored on a triple by Eschen tying the game at one lifting Cosicone. Braves loaded the bases pitching carefully but the Saints would win on a walk off fielders choice by Quitadamo.

In game two of a weekend series at Revere High School, South Boston came in feeling good following a close win the night before. South Boston's rookie Mike Tice faced off against Yawkey veteran Jon Shepard.
Revere scored first in this one putting 1 on the board in the 2nd. South Boston quickly answered in the third and fourth scoring one in each.
The 5th saw plenty of action from the Saints offense putting up 5 runs on 5 hits with 2 outs.
The Saints would add on in the 7th behind a 3R-HR from Gonzalez who went 3/4 in this one missing the cycle by a triple.
Revere would score their second on a solo HR by Petrone who went 2/3 with 2rbis.

In a well pitched game on both sides you knew it was going to be close against these two rivals.
In the 2nd the Saints led off with a double and single by Matvichuk and Quitadamo. Matvichuk would score on a double-play. Saints followed with a bunt single by McAuliffe but would do no more stranding 1 left on base.
Revere would threaten in the 4th with a BB by Wong and RBI single by Petrone and eventually loading the bases against an always tough Aizenstadt. The Saints escaped without further damage.
The Saints would answer with a BB, a wp by Sandini, a sac bunt and a sac fly.
Revere would use Young in 1.1 ip of scoreless relief, while the Saints used Tobin for the W in 3 ip of scoreless relief.

Somerville jumps on the board early with 4 runs in the first, and immediately answered the Saints 3rd inning 2 run surge with 3 more in the 4th. Both teams settled in as they worked around a few errors. The Saints exploded with a 5 run 6th on a 3 rbi triple from rookie catcher Stone, rbi double from Gonzalez. Tieing run would score on a Somerville error. No time to play extras as Ross lights were out at 10:30.

The Big Red Machine continues to roll as they squeezed out a 4-1 win over South Boston in the 2017 season opener. Rookie George Gali went 2-for-3 with a 2B and veteran Brian Tanguy tossed the final 2.2 innings, working out of a bases loaded - one out jam, to earn the win.

Dave Eschen went 3-for-4 and Trevor Boyce added a 2-for-4 for the Saints. Dan Shaw was saddled with the loss.
