The Somerville offense powered their way to a 2-0 series lead after a 13 run, 21 hit night at Adams Field. Billy Karalis (correct spelling) and Will Brennan each belted 2-run homers over the RF fence on the night while Ted Dziuba "lofted" three doubles on a 4-hit night. Mike Maguire also had a huge night with 3 hits and 3 RBI.

Chris Foundas earned the win with 6 innings allowing 4 runs. Brian Tanguy tossed a scoreless 7th to wrap up the win.

Series moves to Saint Peter's Field on Friday night.

Sean Sullivan spins a complete game effort as the Red Army takes the first of a seven game YBL Championship Series against Al Thomas, 7-2. The big hit of the night came off the bat of Teddy Dziuba, who smashed a deep double to left-center that plated the go-ahead runs in the 5th. Regular Season batting champ, Bobby Barrett continues to rake as he finished 3-for-4 with a RBI.

Day off tomorrow before the series resumes on Wed night - 7:30pm at Adams Field (Quincy, Mass.)

Somerville advances to the YBL Semi-finals with a 20-3 game four victory over East Boston.

Jimmy Ricoy knocked in 5 RBI on his 3-4 night, including a towering 3-run home run in the 5th. Zack Littman went 4-5 with 3 RBI and Will Brennan added a pair of doubles in the win. Sean Sullivan tossed five innings for the win, allowing three runs.

Ken Luongo smashed a two-run homer in the first, his second home run of the series, deep into the left-center corner. Marty Dunlap went 3-for-4 on the night to lead the EBK offense. Adam Somers suffered the loss.

The Red Army plates 5 runs in the first inning on a pair of two-RBI singles from Will Brennan and Bobby Barrett as they take the pivotal game three by a 9-5 final over East Boston.

Brennan finished the night going 3-5 with a double and 4 RBI. Barrett went 3-4 with three RBI for Somerville. Lamarre Rey earned the win on the mound as he scattered five hits over 6 innings of work.

For the Knights, Chuck Erickson lifted a long fly ball over the centerfield fence for a two-run homer in the second while Marty Dunlap recorded 2 hits in 3 ABs with a RBI. Evan Vallera threw a 150+ pitch complete game in the loss.

Game Four back at Maplewood tomorrow night.

Behind the complete game, 10 K effort from veteran Jon Morse, the Red Army evens the series at 1 with a 6-3 win. Ted Dziuba blasted a two-run homer in the 6th while Will Brennan knocked in a pair of his own going 2-for-3.

Victor Lebron led of the game with an inside-the-park home run while Ken Luongo started his 3-for-3 night with a solo shot over the fence in right center. Sam Bennett suffered the loss tossing three plus innings and Jon Shepard spun the final three frames.

Chris Dion went the distance pitching 7 strong innings, scattering 5 hits on 1 run, while striking out 3 batters to earn his 6th win of the season.

Pizarro and Lenane would lead off the game with back to back singles. Adams would then launch on what would be a game winning 2 RBI triple.

The Sabers would add another on a RBI single by Lenane in the 2nd to plate Cave.

Somerville would plate one in the 3rd. After a Maguire triple to deep right, Dziuba would knock him in on a ground out.

Johnny Cave throws a runner out at third from right field to end the game.

Lenane had 2 hits for the Sabers.

Black Sox end a five game skid with 5-1 victory over Somerville. Cam Owens got the start and pitched 6.2 innings to pick up the win. Owens would give up just one run on five hits, before giving way to Jared Rooney, who picked up the 1 out save.

The Sox scored 4 runs in the second inning on a bases loaded walk by Will Baker. Kevin Hopwood scored on a wild pitch. And after Ross Zamparelli walked to reload the bases, Spencer Tonies would drive in two runs on a base hit to right. The Sox would add a run in the seventh on a bases loaded walk by Rob O'Neil.

Somerville would score their run in the seventh. when Teddy Dziuba scored on a base hit by David Lightbody.

Chris Costa improves to 3-0 as the Alibrandis stop a two game skid with an 8-2 win over Revere.

Costa tossed six frames allowing just two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out eight. Lamarre Rey threw a clean seventh to preserve the win.

Offensively, the Red Army was led by Mike Maguire who had three RBI on two hits. Bobby Barrett also had two hits and Anthony Perry recorded three.

Revere saw both Adam Del Rio and Tony Iafolla go 2-for-3 at the dish. Iafolla had the lone RBI.

Pat Shore went the distance and suffered the loss for the Rox.

The Sabers sent Cummings, Lumb, Dion, Montiverdi and McNamara to the mound to scatter 6 hits on 1 run, while striking out 3 Alibrandis in a solid effort by the pitching staff.

Dion earned the win and McNamara recorded the save.

Somerville took a quick 1-0 lead with a RBI single by Gronkowski.

The Saber would battle back in the 4th. Adams, Colucci and Quezada would lead off the inning to load the bases. Flanagan would then follow with a 2 RBI single to center to help the Sabers take the lead. Pizarro and Lenane would then hit back to back RBI singles with 2 outs to plate 2 more.

The Sabers defense turned 3 double plays.

Colucci and Lenane had 2 hits for Stoneham.

Barrett had 3 hits for Somerville.

Sean Sullivan picks up his 3rd win of the season. He pitched 5 strong innings allowing 5 hits and striking out 6 Saints.
