The Somerville offense powered their way to a 2-0 series lead after a 13 run, 21 hit night at Adams Field. Billy Karalis (correct spelling) and Will Brennan each belted 2-run homers over the RF fence on the night while Ted Dziuba "lofted" three doubles on a 4-hit night. Mike Maguire also had a huge night with 3 hits and 3 RBI.

Chris Foundas earned the win with 6 innings allowing 4 runs. Brian Tanguy tossed a scoreless 7th to wrap up the win.

Series moves to Saint Peter's Field on Friday night.

Sean Sullivan spins a complete game effort as the Red Army takes the first of a seven game YBL Championship Series against Al Thomas, 7-2. The big hit of the night came off the bat of Teddy Dziuba, who smashed a deep double to left-center that plated the go-ahead runs in the 5th. Regular Season batting champ, Bobby Barrett continues to rake as he finished 3-for-4 with a RBI.

Pat Bresnehan goes 4 2/3rds to lead ATBC to victory, with a gutsy performance on short rest. Bill Clang closed out the bottom of the 5th to take get the A's out of the jam. Duncan Finigan came in and cleaned up the 6th and 7th to close the door. The A's got it done at the plate, led by James Katsiroubas, who went 4-4 on the night with a triple and a double.

ATBC takes the first step out of hell, behind a quality start from Bobby Freeman. Bill Clang came in during the 4th with a huge stop to minimize a 4 run rally from the Braves, getting two quick outs, then Finigan came in to close the door. At the plate, the A's struck first, pushing 3 across early, and then waking up in the top of the 5th to take the lead for good.

Braves overcome a 5 run deficit to take game one in extras 12-9 over Al Thomas.

Al Thomas got out to a 6-1 lead, powered by a 3-run homer by Katsiroubas in the 2nd.

Braves answered in the 6th plating 8, aided by hits from Lee, Uberti, Sammarco, while Joyce had a single and 2-run double in the inning.

Al Thomas ties it up in the bottom of the 6th on a Lambert RBI single, a Rodriguez double and a Trull Sac-Fly.

In the 8th, Braves led off with 2 walks and a single, loading the bases. Robb hit a Sac-Fly to score one and Sammarco then blasted at 2-run double to center for some much needed insurance runs.

Chetelat closes it out for his second postseason save.

Steve Robb had the game winning RBI for the second game in a row and Alex Joyce had a career night going 3-4 with 2B, BB, 4 runs scored and 2 RBI.

Game 2 at BC High tomorrow night 7:30 start.

ATBC comes out and takes care of business to close out the series. After battling back and forth for the first few innings, the A's brought out the bats and strung together a few hits for a 5 spot in the bottom of the 5th to take the lead 10-5. The A's never looked back after that, plating 8 more on the night. The offense was bolstered by Matt Rodriguez, who went 4-4, with a triple and 3 runs batted in, and Steve Lambert who added a dong. Kasey Kirby pitched well, going 2 innings, followed by Bobby Freeman and Dan Gaughan to clean up the rest.

ATBC comes out of a the gate sluggish after a week off. Despite allowing 4 runs in the 3rd, Bresnehan pitched well, and bore down to minimize the damage. Dan Gaughan came in to shut down a big scoring opportunity in the 4th, getting 2 quick outs to strand 2. Brennan and Freeman would close out the game, with the former picking up the win. The A's bats were quiet all night, finally breaking up the shutout in the 6th with a 2 spot. Down to the final 3 outs, Matt Rodriguez would start the rally with a hit up the middle and some excellent base running to wind up at 3rd on the play. That was all the momentum ATBC would need, culminating with a walk-off hit from John Kostas (3 hits on the night) to seal the deal.

Tommy Lenane got his first career YBL start and did not disappoint. Lenane tossed 4 innings of no hit baseball until he scattered 5 hits through 6 innings, letting up 1 earned while striking out 3 A's to earn the win.

Jhonal Contreras would close out the game in the 7th.

Kevin Luciano led the Saber offense with 3 hits, a home run a triple and 6 RBI.

Colucci and Quezada also had 3 hits for Stoneham.

Lambert had a RBI single for the A's.

ATBC keeps the momentum rolling with a victory at McConnell park. The A's started early, scoring in 2 in each of the first and second. The game would later be tied and the A's came alive to score two in the top of the 6th. The ATBC pitching staff got the job done, bearing down when needed. All in all a good team win.

Al Thomas Baseball Club hikes it up to the beach and garners a victory behind Pat Bresnehan and timely hitting. Bresnehan went 4 and a third, with Willie Archibald and Kasey Kirby closing out the game. The A's bats started out hot and then came alive in the top of the 7th to secure the win with 4 insurance runs.

The ATBC boys continue the momentum with a win at Rogers. Veteran Bill Clang records the 51st win of his illustrious Yawkey career and the 400th strikeout to improve to 2-0 on the year. Disciplined and productive at-bats won the day as the entire Athletic line-up contributed to the tally of 5 runs to propel ATBC to victory.

ATBC opens the season with a good team win. Lambert, Carrera, and Trull had good nights at the plate, along with the rest of lineup. Bill Clang picked up the win, giving up 1 through 5 innings pitched. While Dan Gaughan and Kasey Kirby cleaned up the 6th and 7th respectively.
