Black Sox push across two runs in the top of the fifth and make it stand to pick up the win.

Jared Rooney picks up his first win of the season pitching into the sixth without giving up a run. Sam Kennedy-Smith came on in the sixth with runners on second and third to induce a popup, then record the final three outs to pickup his first save.

Offensively for the Sox, Bill Reichmann and Cam Owens each collected two hits.


Matt Bernstein would go the distance for Forest Hills, pitching very well despite picking up the loss. Alberto Vazquez had two hits for Forest Hills.

Offenseveily Travis Adams led the Stoneham offense. Adams had 3 hits, 2 doubles, and 3 RBIS.

Angelo Colucci also had 3 hits, with a double, RBI and scored a run.

Eight different Hornets get hits tonight. Freddi Carrea (triple) and KC Murphy (HR) get extra base hits. Carrera (2) Murphy (3) and Pat McClay (2) all had a multiple rbi night Eleven free passes by Force pitching, five to start the game was a big part of the picture.

Nick Young went the distance for the Hornets giving up only 2 earned runs. He struck out 8 and walked just 1.

Although they had trouble finding the plate, The Force did do a bit of their hitting on their own tonight, pounding out eleven hits. Frander Baez enjoyed a 4 for 4 evening. Johan Villalona had 3 hits including 2 doubles. And lead-off hitter E.J. Estrada homered in the 3rd to get the Force on the board.

With a non-existent bench and a skeleton crew, the Dodgers got back on track against the free-swinging Force. The Force put the first 4 pitches in play in an aggressive attack, but leading to their only run. Meers, Silver and Von Harden each contributed 2 hits.

For the 2nd straight outing, Chris Michienzi put up another solid effort, keeping all damage minimal by not allowing any free passes. The Dodgers offense was patient, which resulted in a total of 23 batters reaching base, led by Jerrad "BALL! BALL!" Ryan (2r, 2h, 2rbi, 3sb), Stanley Whitmore (2h, 2rbi), Zach Dubin (1h, 3rbi) and Christian "Teen Spirit" Hoxsie (2r, 2h) who also added a great sliding catch to end the game.

This match-up also saw the much-anticipated debut of the Dodgers' manager Patty "ThatsNotASockInMyCrotch" McGrath at first base.

They all can't be pretty. Hornets come from behind to win an error filled walk-fest.

After saving a game the night before, Mike Isaia keeps the Hornets as close as his defense let's him for 4 innings. That was just enough time for the the bats to join the game. Savin Hill pounded out 10 hits over the final 3 innings.

Trailing by 3 runs entering both the 5th and 6th innings, Alex Criscuolo started both rallies with lead-off singles. Nate Hodor had the big bat on the night with 3 hits including 2 doubles, 3 rbi and 2 runs scored. Henry Spitzer continues his hot hitting with a big 2 rbi single. And Max Sterenson had 2 hits. The last ended up being a game-winning 2-rbi single, giving him 3 rbi on the night.

Peder Von Harten and Matt Bernstein each had 2 hits for the Force. DH, Pat Yee was 3 for 3.

Chris Dion pitches 6 strong innings and the Sabers defeat the Force 7-2.

Dion pitched 6 solid innings letting up 7 hits on 2 runs, striking out 6 Force batters.

Sam Cummings would come into relief and close the door, striking out one batter.

The Sabers got on the board early with an RBI single by Angelo Colucci, that plated Mike Robinson.

In the fourth Colucci led off with a single and later would score on a Jon Chapman RBI single. Robinson would then blast a 2 RBI triple to put the lead at 4-0

Stoneham would tack on 3 more insurance runs in the 6th. After a pair of singles by Jake Zelnick and Jon Chapman, Robinson and Travis Adams both drove in a run. Chapman would also score on heads up base running play.

Chapman, Colucci, and Robinson all had a multi-hit game.

Great pitching effort in Talal Saleh's second start of the year, he went 5 solid innings striking out 4. Brad McLean got the win, striking out 6 in the last three innings, while holding the Force hitless.

The Knights faced off against the Forest Hills force looking to sweep the season series between the 2 teams. The Knights sent Ryan White to the Hill and the Force countered with Paul Szydlowski.

Ryan White looked sharp in his first ever start for the Knights. Hitting his spots with good velocity he shut down the Force for 3 innings. The Knights offense took a couple of innings to get started only scoring 1 run through 3 innings. That changed in the 4th and 5th scoring 6 and 4 runs respectively opening this game up to take an 11-1 lead.

Sean Hannon picked up the win for the Knights pitching just one inning while Sean Perkins earned his first save of the year by pitching 2 strong innings to close the game. Hannon is now 6-0 on the season.

Offensively for the Knights Jose Paulino and Matt Rodriguez had 3 RBI a piece. The Knights are now 17-4 on the season and winners of 6 straight.

Dodgers get back a win on the strength of "Moose" Breidenstine and his complete game shutout. Moose needed less than 90 pitches to scatter 2 hits and 2 walks with 6 k's to earn his 2nd win of the season.
Jerrad Ryan broke out as the spark plug going 2 for 3 with 3 runs and 3 steals. Nick "Bob Saget" Tapper provided some insurance in the 7th with a 2-run double prior to Moose shutting the door in the bottom half.

For the Force, Paul Szydlowski threw a solid 6 innings before leaving in the 7th. EJ Estrada had 2 hits to left out of the leadoff spot.

Johan Villalona stepped in to start for the injury depleted Force to earn his first YBL win on the mound. Huge games for Andy Meers (2 for 3) and Alex Alcantara (2-3, 3 RBI) helped fuel the offense for Forest Hills.
Pressler was a bright spot for the Astros going 2-3 to complement a stolen base and good defense.
Forest Hills takes the season series 2-1 after 3 good baseball games at Jim Rice.

Good baseball game at Jim Rice today with Forest Hills eeking out a win for Carlos Silver despite a late charge by the Astros, led by Ortiz' 2 run shot in the 6th.
A small-ball 4-run fourth inning for the Force proved to be the deciding factor. These two clubs meet again next Sunday for game 3 of the season series (tied 1-1).

Braves make it 9 in a row but manage just 3 hits again in consecutive nights against Force pitching. Tracy and Schools contributed the RBIs on a grounder and SAC Fly. Hudson, Risk and Kerbin collected the Braves hits.

Silver, von Harten and Alcantara had the hits for the Force.

Braves collect only 3 hits off Force starter Mike Dimonte (7 IP, ER, BB, 2 K) but Risk manages a broken bat single to center to plate Schools in the 4th for the only run of the game. Schools and Robb had the other hits for the Braves. Cashman was held hitless for only the second game of the year. Uberti (7 IP, 7 K) hurls a shutout for his 2nd win.

Villalona led the Force offense with 2 hits. Six other Force batters each had a hit apiece.

Braves make it 8 in a row. The home-and-home series moves to Rogers Park on Tuesday night.

Jacky Higgins had no idea he was going to start tonight when he arrived at Ronan Park. The never-ending drama - which IS the McKay Club 2012 season continued as the original starter pulled a no show - no call. Mr. Higgins the 19 year old college freshman from South Boston & BC High stood up and did the job. This was Jacky’s YBL debut and he pitched his butt off!

Higgins was solid as he tossed 6 complete innings allowing only 4 hits and 1 run. He walked 4 and K'd 5 JM Force batters. Jacky got out of jams in the first and sixth innings in style. Jon Pelletier came on for a fun filled 7th inning to seal the deal.

Jack Owens is a big game player. The Beacon Captain stepped up as well tonight at his old home Ronan Park. “Happy Jack “ went 2 for 4 - had 3 RBI and a stolen base. Dylan Perez used his first base hit of the season to plate the other Beacon run in the 6th.

Defensively sound pitchers' duel all around with Wells for Forest Hills and a combined 3-hitter by McCarthy/Levett/and Sandini for the Rockies.

The BH Dodgers pulled to even-500 ball with a drawn out 8-3 win over the Force of Forest Hills. Kyle "Moose" Breidenstine threw a complete game giving up 3 runs, 2 of which were unearned.

For the Force, Matt Bernstein threw 5 solid innings of 3-run ball, giving up 6 hits and 4 walks, striking out 6 Dodgers. In the 5th, Ramon Marte put the Force up 3-2 with a huge triple deep to RF.

After Bernstein left the game, the Dodgers knotted the game at 3 in the 6th then did the majority of their damage in the 7th plating 5 runs piling up 4 hits and 3 walks, and capitalizing on some misplays in the field. Jerrad Ryan was 2 for 3, Mike Navarro went 3 for 5, and Andrew "Just GIve Me a Shot, Coach" Billig kept the rally going with some savvy base running.

Friday night baseball at Jim Rice Field. The Astros beat the Force 9-3 and improved their record to 2-0 on the young season.

Astros jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 3rd inning as Jordan Matos lead off with a double and was knocked in by Rommel Peguero. Francis Reyes and Miguel Rodriguez also knocked in runs in the 3rd.

After the Force made it close with 3 runs in the top of the 5th, the Astros pulled away in the 6th with 4 more runs, highlighted by a Delvis Baez RBI double.

On the mound Stevie Melo (1-0) was strong thru 4.1 innings, and was followed by a rock solid 1.2 innings by Izzy Velez, and a scoreless 7th by Hairo Hernandez.

The East Boston Knights welcomed the Forest Hill Force into the YBL on Saturday at McConnell Park. The Force kept it close till the 4th when Force pitcher Alexander Alcantara stuggled with control problems. The Knights took advantage with timely hitting as Knights rookie Wilson Mercado led all Knights with 2 hits, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Moises Maza also chipped in with 2 hits of his own. Knights starter Branden Eaton cruised in this one striking out 6 in 5 innings for the complete game victory.
