Dan Gaughan threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball to lead the Al Thomas Club to a playoff berth with a 9-4 win over the McKay Club.

Rookie Steve Lambert went 3-4 with 5 rbi, including his league-leading 7th triple. Ricky Salvucci, Joe Barresi, Bubba Muse and Liam Powers each ripped 2 hits for the offense.

Conor Reinfurt blasted a home run for the McKay Club.

Revere comes out on top after the usual battle with the Beacons. It seems almost every game between these two teams in decided by a run or two.

McCarthy picks up his 6th win on the year, striking out 7 over 5 innings. Connors notches his 2nd save in as many nights. Offensively Laliberte leads the Rockies attack going 3-4 RBI; Philson stays hot with 2 more hits and "Roadkill" Bucciarelli was a meanace on the basepaths with 2 hits, a walk and 2 stolen bases.

Owens and Ciocca each had two hits for the Beacons.

Mike Barthel led the way on the bump and the Beacons defeated Brew Crew 6 to 1 @ Ronan. A 4 run 4th & 2 additional runs in the 5th sealed the deal for the Beacons.

Brian Curran had a 2RBI triple in the 4th along with RBI singles by Ryan Oshima & Andy McAllister. Oshima also added an RBI in the 2 run 5th.

Barthel was the story - allowing only 3 hits in 7IP. Mike allowed one run on a lead off double to Mike Muccio who was plated on a single by the Brewer' Pollak in the 3rd. Barthel had 6 K's & 3 in the 2nd.

McKay Club beat the best team in the YBL tonight. Malden is a machine and that machine was shut down at least tonight by UMass product Brian Curran. Curran pitched a complete (8 inning0 game and allowed only 3 hits. The mighty malden bats were quiet, but they managed to tie it up on old friend Dana Levensaler's hit in the 7th. The beacons scored when Tom Michael led off the 8th rounded to 3B on an error and scored on Jack Owens solid single to center.

Peter Karl made a tremendous throw to the plate to end the game on a double play and preserve the victory.

Mike Barthel pitched a 3 hitter to keep the McKay Club's play off hopes alive. Barthel allowed an unearned run in the 4th & was near perfect all night. He was aided by 2 quick runs the 1st and one in the 3rd.

Jack Owens led off with a double and was plated by Ryan Oshima's single. Owens doubled again in the 3rd and scored on a solid single by Connor Reinfurt.

Southie held the Beacons down but were unable to get anything off Barthel, who was as sharp as ever. Max Warren had two of the 3 hits off barthel for Southie.

Sox hold on to beat McKay behind a solid performance by J.T. Ross both on the mound and at the plate. Ross picks up his fourth win throwing the complete game on 4 days rest as well as hitting a 3 run home run in the second.

Ryan Oshima had three hits for McKay.

Braves took a 7 to 0 lead in 1st, but the McKay Club scored 6 in their half and went on to win this huge game @ Ronan.

Playoff spots are few and both teams are in the hunt. Big Baby Jonathan Pelletier cam in and stopped the bleeding. He pitched in relief of Nick O'Keefe who had a dead arm in the 1st. Big Baby went thru 5 for the win.

Adam Donkey DelRio won his 5th game of the year with a 5 inning, 1 unearned run, 7 strikeout performance.

Joe Eugenio's sac bunt attempt that turned into a single loaded the bases in the 4th. Tom Englehardt followed with a double down the left field line, plating 2 runs. Chris Deane followed with a gap double plating another 2 runs.

Troy Ingemi had another wizard like game at second base.

The McKay club battled all night under the hazy fog.

Malden moves to 15-2-1.

John Kostas scattered 4 hits in a complete game win as the A's sneak by the McKay Club 4-3.

Brian Powers' grounder in the ss hole scored Bobby Barrett with the winning run in the bottom of the 7th. Barrett, Matt Hallisey and rookie John Foley had 2 hits apiece to lead Al Thomas.

Nick O'Keefe pitched very well for the Beacons and Sandonato came on in relief in the 6th with the bases jammed and struck out 3 in a row. Conor Reinfurt had 2 hits to pace the offense.

Sean Gildea earned his 4th win of the season by going the distance walking 2 and striking out 8. He gave up 1 unearned run.

The Dogs were short handed and used pitchers Talal Saleh and Miles Whitlock in the line-up. Gildea stepped it up and was the stopper.

Johnny Cunningham had 3 walks and a sacrifice and scored twice. Kenny Luongo also walked 3 times and had an RBI single. Mike Hudd had 2 hits and Jay Sablone knocked in 2 runs with a double.

"Big Baby" Jon Pelettier picks up the Beacons for his 1st YBL victory in relief of Adam Kulis in the 6th & 7th. Beacons came from behind in the top of the 7th to plate two and held on in the bottom of 7th to win.

Jack Owens was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Joe Barresi (single) and Andy McAllister (hit by a Pitch) had the big RBI's in the 7th.

Sandin and Kulis locked for a classic 6 inning pitcher's due. Neither would figure in the outcome. A tremendous ball game well played and very well officiated!

Beacons took an early lead and hung on to defeat YBL Champs at Ronan. Mike Barthel tossed 124 pitches thru 5.2IP. He gave up 10 hits and was sharp in spots against the top hitting team in the YBL. He was aided at times by quality defense as well. Ryan Thomas put out a fire in the 6th to help out in a huge spot and closed things out.

The story of the night was the Beacon ability to jump out to and hold a large lead. They scored 6 in the 1st 3 innings. Drew Tambling continued his torrid hitting: 3for4; 3RBI & 3 stolen bases. Andy McAllister had 2RBI & went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Jack Owens also had a solid night: 2for3; 2 runs scored. Jake Souto also chipped in with a 2RBI single in the 5 run 3rd.

Justin Crissafulli smashed one over the fence on a line in left in the 3rd.

This was the 4th win in a row for the Beacons.

Drew Tambling struck two homers and had 3 RBI. Jack Owens led off three innings with hits and scored twice. Mike Barthel had an RBI and 2 hits. Connor Reinfurt continued his torrid hitting with 3 hits & an RBI.

But, the story of the day was the relief effort on the bump by Ryan Thomas. Thomas came in with the score tied at 5 in the 4th. He ended any further threats by the Brighton Sox with no runs, no hits and 3Ks over 3.1 innings for the victory. Grant Derflinger was throwing hard, but his wildness and 3 errors caused 4 unearned runs and his demise.

Sox came back from a 5-1 deficit to tie it up in the 4th. The Sox are a solid team that worked very hard in this home loss.

Beacons won their 2nd in a row and evened their season record at 5-5 tonight. Adam Kulis was the show. He pitch 6 scoreless innings allowing only 5 hits and K's 3 enrout to his 2nd win of '08.

They scored all 3 runs in the 1st inning. Revere made a rush on Mike Barthel in the 7th, but the beacons held on for the win.

Brad Gerbus had 2 hits an RBI and scored a run. Connor Reinfurt had an RBI single and Barthel chipped in as he hit into a DP to complete the scoring. Dan Ciocca also had a night 2 hits in 3 appearences and 2 stolen bases.

Rockies scored 2 unearend runs in thwe 7th. Nate Liliberti smashed a titanic triple that should have been a HR in any enclosed field in the 2nd.

Excitment as - always between these two teams!

Beacons jumped out to a 7-0 lead in 1st on 3 hits. Added 4 more in the 3rd and coasted from there. Nick O'Keefe, 19 year old from Anna Maria College was sidelined since opening day with an elbow problem. He came up large and in charge tonight. Nick had 4IP; no runs; 2H and walked 4.

Peter Karl pitched the 5th and got the win even tho the he gave a HR that broke the shutout.

Karl was 2 for 4 scored twice as well. he was joined Mike Barthel 2 for 4 one run scored and 2RBI. Drew Tambling went 2 fro 4; scored twice had 3 stolen bases and 3 RBI. Jake Souto came off the bench and went 2 for 3.

Chelsea's #8 batter Brown smashed two homers - a solo job in the 5th off Karl and a two run liner off of Tim Brettington in the 6th.

Matt "Mango" Manganelli, got into early trouble in the first walking 4 and allowing 3 runs, despite the early struggles, Manganelli took a no hitter into the 6th and after walking 1 got 2 quick outs before Joe Barresi broke up the no hitter. Manganelli pitched another great game for the Cyclones earning is second victory of the yr. Jimmy Burns came to get the final out in the 6th and worked a perfect 7th inning to close out the Beacons and earn his first save of the yr.

Christian Barros continues his hot streak scoring 3 times and going 2 for 4 at bat. Rookie Angelo Scippa had big triple in the 2nd to drive in a run and CJ Townsend drove in 2 with a single in the 4th to break a 3-3 tie. Brian DeVenne gave the Cyclones and extra run in the 7th with a big RBI double to score Townsend and put the Cyclones up 6-4.

With the win Manganelli evens his record at 2 and 2

Brookline moves to 4-3 on the year with a big win at McKay Club in Dorchester. After fighting the ridiculous Dorchester Parade traffic, the Dodgers fought back from a 5-0 1st inning deficit to move back over .500 on the season.

Brookline 1B Zvi Dubitzky had a big day, going 2-4 with a double, a walk, 2 runs and 5 RBI's. 3B Jerrad Ryan went 3-4 with a double, a walk, 2 runs and 2 RBI. CF Jay Shatto stole 2 bases, while going 2-4 with a HBP and 2 runs scored. Every Dodger starter scored a run and reached base twice.

Starter Marty Whitmore (1-2) pitched a better game than the score would show, hurling 6 innings of 6 hit, 3 walk, 4 earned run ball. Whitmore struck out 7, including 3 Beacons straight in the 5th inning with the bases loaded.

McKay Club came out swinging in this one. They scored 9 runs in the 1st two innings to secure their 3rd win of 2008. Mike Barthel came HOME to take the pill for the Beacons. He was good enough thru 5IP to garner the win. Mike allowed 5 runs only 2 were earned.

Connor Reinfurt was 4 for 5 with 5RBI and a 2nd inning Grand Slam over the deep left center field fence at Ronan to lead the way at the stick for McKay Club. Brad Gerbus also continued his torrid hiting. The YBL Rookie is 5th in the league in hitting. Brad was 3 for 5 with an RBI and another stolen base.

Mike Ryan had his usual night against the McKay Club going 4 for 4 scoring 2 runs with 3RBI for the Devils.

Demers walked 1 and struck out 8 to pick up his 2nd win of the season. Offensively, the Bluefish were led by Chris Hartery (4 RBI) and Sean Glavin, who each had 3 hits, while 4 other Bluefish each had 2 hits a piece.

18 year old Nick O'Keefe led the way on the bump for the McKay Club at frosty McConnell Park as the Beacons won 6-1. O'Keefe out of Anna Maria College K's 10 Hornets enroute to 6IP. He allowed only 5 hits.

Nick was aided by Dan Ciocca 2 hits, 2 runs & 2RBI; Joe Barresi walked 3 times, scored twice & had a double; Jack Ownes big run scoring double in 1st and Andy McAllister's 2 hit performance.
