With their backs against the wall, the Dodgers faced an early deficit for the 4th straight game but get the W behind a Matchbox MVP performace from Chris Michienzi. Mich went 5 and kept AT batters off balance, yielding just 3h and 1er. Matt "DJ PowerBass" Rosenzweig earns his 2nd save of the series throwing the final 2 frames.

A miscue in the 1st and an rbi single from Derochea in the 2nd put the Black and Blue in a 2-0 hole, the Dodgers come back with 3 in the 3rd on rbis from Tapper, Hodor and Buddha (2-for-4). They would tally the eventual winning run after a sac bunt from O'Keefe and a throwing error to score Ye Olde Grimes who led off the inning with a double. Clarke adds insurance with a bases-loaded FC to plate 2 more in the 6th.

Fans of the game: can't pick one, great showing from DodgerDogNation. (and a Sully sighting)

Game 5 probables: a rematch of game 1 starters, with Archibald and Huber going on 3 days' rest.

Freddie Carrera's fielder choice drove in Matt Jacobs, who had tripled to open the game, for what would be the only run needed for Freeman, who masterfully mixed his pitches with the determination of a Mongolian squirrel fighting for the last nut of the winter solstace.
Steve Lambert singled in a run in the 3rd and rookie Matt Levasseur singled in an insurance run in the 7th.
Jacobs made a nice running catch in center in the 5th to preserve the blankage.

Samp pitched well in defeat for the Dodgers.

Freeman wins the Ron Mexico MVP award for the game.

It was the hitters with the headlines but it was really the pitchers who were the story. aFter giving up a run in each of the first two innings, Kyle Breidenstine was brilliant. striking out Freddi Carrera (3 hits, sb) with runners on 1st and 3rd to end the 6th. A's starter Bill Clang might have been even better giving up only 3 hits and 1 unearned run over 5 innings. Not to be out done, Dodger's Closer, Matt Rosenzweig K'd the three batters he faced in the 7th.

The series is now tied at 1-1.

Kyle "Moose" Breidenstine gets his 1st matchbox MVP.
