Nate Titcomb's 1 hit complete game shutout led the Bluefish to a 4-0 victory on Friday Night, and clinching the Bluefish's first ever YBL Championship. The win was the Bluefish's 17th straight home win. Chris Santosuosso hit 2 doubles, and was named the Playoff MVP by League President Dave McKay after the game. The Bluefish would like to congratulate the Brighton Brewers on a hard fought series, and thank everyone for their continued support of our team and the Yawkey League.

Chris Demers pitched 5 innings of shutout baseball in leading the Bluefish to an eventual 14-6 slugfest win over the Brewers on Thursday Night. Offensively, the Bluefish trio at the top (Recore, Becker, and Santosuosso) combined for 11 runs scored, and Santosuosso drove in 5 of the runs on 2 doubles and a single. The Brewers scored 6 runs in a matter of minutes, having the first 8 guys reach base in the 6th. Mike Muccio led the Brewers offense with 2 hits. Game 5 is scheduled for Friday Night, 7:30, at St.Peter's in Cambridge.

Game 3 was a great duel between Mike Lewis of the Brewers and Kyle Jones of the Bluefish. Lewis retired the first 11 of the night, and took a no-hitter into the 5th. Jones found himself in some trouble via the walk, but matched goose eggs until the 5th. With runners on 1st and 3rd and 2 outs, Jones commits a Balk, allowing Muccio to score from 3rd and give the Brewers a 1-0 lead. Bottom of the 5th, after Chris Hartery lead off with the 1st Bluefish hit, a 1 out hit batsman made it 1st and 2nd. Bluefish called for a double steal, in which the throw to 3rd got away, allowing Hartery to score from 3rd. After a ground out, Chris Demers' infield single with 2 outs scored the 2nd Bluefish run. To the 7th, after 2 walks and a sacrifice bunt, the Bluefish walk Iafolla to load the bases. Jones' 140th pitch of the night induced a 6-4-3 double play to end the game. The Bluefish evened the best of 7 YBL Championship series at 1, with a dominating pitching performance from Chris Sandini. The young righthander held the Brewers to 1 hits striking out 11. The Bluefish got on the board in the top of the first when Jason Recore led off with a double and scored on an error. In the seventh, they added two more on a single from Chris Hartery.
The series moves to St. Peter's Field in Cambridge for Game 3 Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Brewers ride the arm of Kevin Christina to yet another CG win in Game 1. Five different Brewers had RBIs in the game.

Anthony Leonelli pitched 3+ innings of solid relief for the Bluefish, including striking out the side in the 4th.

Brewers take 1-0 series lead.

Chris Demers complete game propelled the Bluefish to their first ever YBL Finals, defeating a tough Malden Bulldogs squad 4-1, to take the series by 3 games to 1. Al Becker had 3 hits, while Bobby Foote added 2 hits for the Bluefish. Evan Tardugno led the Bulldogs offense with 2 hits.

After a few errors and ball lost in the dusk, the Bluefish found themselves down 5-0 in the bottom of the first inning of Game 3. But the hosts scratched and clawed as Kyle Jones CG, 8 Ks) kept the Bulldogs' bats at bay.

Jason Recore (2 hits, 3 runs) knocked in the go-ahead runs with a double in the fourth, as the Bluefish came back from their biggest deficit in team history to defeat the Bulldogs by a score of 9-6 for their 13th straight home victory. It was their third come-from-behind win in their last four playoff games. Tardugno was the tough-luck loser for Malden, and D'Entremont launched a 2-run double in the first.

Game 4 is at Rogers at the series resumes Friday night.

Malden battled back from their implosion the night before to best East Boston 4 to 1.

Adam Del Rio got the win in 6 innings of work and Jay Wisner recorded the save.

Malden's offense was paced by RBi's from Evan Tardugno, C4, and Matt Savage.

Sandini pitched very well for East Boston and Hartery hit a bomb to left center for a homerun in the 4th.

The series continues tomorrow at Rogers.

Wild game at Maplewood. Malden scored 2 in the bottom of the 1st and rode the arm of Ken Olisky for 3 perfect innings, and a shutout through 4. In the 5th, after an error, Sean Glavin hit a long 2 run home run to tie the game at 2. As quickly as the Bluefish tied the game, Malden went ahead 4-2 on a long home run by Tom Englehart. It remained 4-2 into the 7th, where the Bluefish scored 5 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks, highlighted by a Mike Lembo single making it 4-3, a Jason Recore bases loaded walk that tied the game, a 2 run single by Al Becker making it 6-4, and a Bobby Foote Sac Fly. Bluefish starter Nate Titcomb, pitching for the first time in over 3 weeks, kept the Fish in it, going 5 innings giving up 4 hits and 4 runs. Matt Smith pitched a scoreless 6th for the win, and Ian Titcomb pitched a scoreless 7 for the save.

Two of the top hitting teams matched up in the rubber game of the 3 game series at Billings on Monday Night. Jon Morse and Chris Demers were on top of their games. Somerville scored first on an RBI Double by Justin Crisafulli, scoring the on base machine Sal Mendonca to make it 1-0. An error on the next play scored Crisafulli to make it 2-0. The Bluefish finally responded in the 5th. Chris Hartery's SF made it 2-1, and after an error to tie the game, Sean Glavin's RBI single to right made it 3-2 Bluefish. Demers went 6 up 6 down from there, propelling the Bluefish to a 3-2 win, and advancing the Bluefish to the Semifinals. Hats off to the Alibrandis, who were complete class throughout the series, and should be commended for one of the best runs in Amateur Sports, not only in Boston but anywhere.

The Bluefish and Alibrandis battled in a tough pitcher's duel between the Bluefish's Chris Sandini and the Alibrandis' Jared Leiderman. Sandini came out on top, pitching a 5 hit shutout to lead the Bluefish to a 2-0 win. Both Bluefish runs were scored with 2 outs. YBL RBI Leader Chris Hartery singled home Jason Recore in the 1st, and Al Becker singled home Mike Lembo in the 2nd. Leiderman threw very well in defeat, giving up only 5 hits while walking 2 and striking out 4. Game 2 is set for Sunday Night at Trum, gametime 8pm.

The Bluefish didn't get many hits, but the ones they did get counted. Chris Hartery's 3 run HR in the 3rd gave the Bluefish the lead for good as they defeated the Rockies by a score of 5-2 in what always is a friendly rivalry game between the 2 teams. Chris Santosuosso gave the Bluefish some insurance by hitting a 2 run HR to left in the 5th. Michael Close hit a long HR to right in the first for the Rockies, while Kevin Spitz went 2 for 3 in defeat.

The Bluefish defeated the Saints by a score of 7-2 in their debut game at the Stadium. Chris Demers made his return to the mound after 3 weeks and threw 3 shutout innings, before turning it over to Matt Vezina, who collected the win giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 1. Becker, Santosuosso, and Steve Mellor each had 2 hits for the Bluefish. Max Warren went 2 for 3 in the leadoff spot for the Saints.
