Championship for Somerville defeating South Boston. Somerville wins the series 4 to 1 for their sixth consecutive title.
Ace pitcher Derek Bates got the call for Somerville and delivered another gem with relief help from cagey veteren Shawn Nadeau.
Somerville's power plant was generated by Dave Scioli who "Blasted a Titanic" 3 run homer to seal the victory. Tom McDonough 2-2 with 1 rbi and 1 run scored, Chris Wright 1-3, 1rbi and 2 runs scored.
Playoff MVP Mike Feetham continue his torrent hitting going 12-17 in the finals,.706avg.
Web Gem of the series was a behind the back flip from gold glove second baseman Kevin White to take away a sure hit and force a runner at second base in the 7th inning.

Somerville's bats exploded again pounding out 9 runs on 18 hits off South Boston's ace Tim Dacey(3 days rest). One thru nine in the order chipped in with hits, lead by Scott Rodgers(3 hits) and Mike "Frozen Rope" Feetham(3 hits) giving Mike a total of 17 playoff hits and 10 in the finals.
Uncle Chad Feetham pitched a gutsy 5 innings of 1 hit ball with relief help from rising star Jon Morse.

A pivotal game for both teams. Somerville needing to take back the home field advantage and control of the series.
Southie came out where they left off, posting 3 runs on 4 hits in the bottom of the 1st. Somerville showing why their 6 time Yawkey League Champions preceded to pound out 18 runs on 16 hits over the next 6 innings.
Scott Rodgers threw a gutsy performance on the hill going seven strong inning to record his second playoff win.
Hitting stars were lead by rooking sensation Mike Feetham going 5-5 with 6 RBI's, hitting for the cycle. Chris Wright 3-5, 4 rbi's, Tom McDonough 3-4 2 rbi's, Dave Scioli 2-5 3 rbi's and Kevin White 2-3, 4 runs scored and 1 rbi.
Defensively Somerville spun 2 double plays.

Team sponsor Tony Alibrandi was present on the bench. This coming on the heel of the teams first loss in a final round playoff game, the first in 3 years. Nothing had to be said, The guys delivered!

Stephenson earns win with great performance despite being hit on the pitching arm by DesRoches in first inning.

Rbi single by SS Mark Skipper followed by a two run homerun by CF Jamie Mossesso in third inning provided the margin of victory.

Despite having three close calls go against them, Saints manage to even series 1 game a piece.

A brilliant pitching performance by Derek Bates shuting down the Saints offense. 11 k's and 1 hit!

Somerville offense was quite with Marc DesRoches,Ted DesRoches and Dave Scioli providing 1 rbi each.

3 out of the 5 Somerville hits were for extra bases. Tom McDonough tripled(Blast) to right center, Sal Mendonca double to right center and Dave Scioli double to left.

Somervile's defense was flawless, turning one DP!

Pierucci misses perfect game with 7th inning ground ball single inches out of the reach of the second baseman. 6 K's and only 64 pitches.

Saints bats explode off a tough but tired Medford staff.

Good defensive plays by Baressi, Strassmann and Stephenson kept perfect game going.

The Maddogs finally broke out the bats, setting a Franchise rcord with 19 hits. Joe Sheehan, Johnny Cunningham and Joe Pasciucco each had 3 hits. Jay Sablone had the big blow, with a 2-out bases loaded single that scored all 3 runners.

Eamonn McDonough, after giving up his first runs in 3 playoff starts, settled in and went the distance to go 3-0 in the Playoffs and 10-3 overall.

Veteran Shawn Nadeau took the hill for the Alibrandi nine and led his team to a hard fought 5-3 win. Chris Wright led the hit attack going 4-4. Nadeau pitched 5 strong innings and was relieved by closer Mark DesRoches who pitched 6 up and 6 down to earn the save.Kevin White scored 3 times and Desroches also added a pair of rbi's. Tom Mcdonough pitched in with a great throw to eliminate the tying run at the plate.Somerville leads series 2-0.

Rob Stephenson goes 6 innings of 1 run ball wih 8 K's including the side in the second. Al Pierucci follows with one shutout inning.

Saints break open game with 6 runs in the 3rd inning. Inning included a couple of hits batsmen, a couple of Medford errors and some solid hitting.

Despite the 12 total runs, the game concluded in 1 hr and 35 minutes.

Derek Bates went the distance for the second time in the playoffs to up his record to 2-0 and help lift the Alibrandi nine to the win in game 1 of the second round. Bates struck out eight while surrenduring just 3 hits. Tom McDonough had the big hit with a 2 run triple to give Somerville the lead for good. Somerville leads series 1-0. Happy 35th. to Coach Powers!!

Tim Dacey wins game in relief after pitching a complete game the night before. Jon Tenney three hits and 2 rbis as well as pitching in relief on 2 days rest.

Winning run scored on "swinging bunt" by second baseman Peter Fricker scoring SS Josh Norse on a bang bang play at the plate.

A game BOTH teams deserved to win.

Aidan Powers outdueled Jason Bush in a classic rubber-game showdown as the Al Thomas Club edged the McKay Club 3-2 to take a well-fought quarterfinal series.

The A's scored all 3 runs in the 2nd inning on 4 hits as Jim Schindler, Sean Wilshere and Brian Powers delivered run-scoring singles.
Aidan Powers made the runs hold up, fending off several McKay rallies, the most notable in the bottom of the 6th, when Chris Malloy gunned down the potential tying run at the plate on a fly ball to right field.
Both teams played a tough series, with the McKay Club flashing some great leather in rookies Peter Needham at short and Brendan Smith at third base and centerfield.

Congrats to the McKay Club for a strong run to and in the playoffs with a promising group of young players, sprinkled with some diehard veterans. And kudos to the Al Thomas Club for battling back after falling behind 2 games to none in the series.

A tough Brighton Sox team watched their 4-1 lead disappear; however, second baseman Gabe Soto's walk-off homerun climatically ended the game and sets the stage for the series finale, Friday night at Ronan Park at 7:30 PM. Soto banged out 4 hits in a clutch performance.
