Beacon Hill Dodgers 8, Brighton Minutemen 5

 Summary | Box Score
Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 R H E
Beacon Hill Dodgers 1 0 1 3 0 0 0 3 8 10 2
Brighton Minutemen 0 0 3 1 0 0 0 0 5 13 1

Jon "Parkway" Merritt battled through 8 innings to record his 5th win, in an incredible Dodger victory. The Minutemen battled the entire way putting up 5 runs on 13 hits, but defense and timely hitting was the key to the Dodger win.
Beacon Hill jumped out to an early lead only to be erased by 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd by some big hits by Brighton. But BH battled back and put up 3 in the top of the 4th. After a run in the 4th and a throwing error to tie up the game in the 7th, all the drama was set up for Matt Grimes. With one out and men on 2nd and 3rd in the 8th, the Minutemen chose to intentionally walk Steve Defusco to load the bases. Grimes proceeded to crush a 2-2 fastball deep into the left-center gap for a triple, scoring all 3 baserunners.
After Merritt let up the first 2 hitters on in the bottom of the 8th, a fly ball double play erased any major threat, and the Parkway finished off his job. One down, and 8 to go

But Joey "Cupcakes" Patrolia had the big hit of the day with a shot slammed through the moist gap in right center for a 2nd-inng Home Run.

DORCHESTER, MA.............Knights beat Dodgers in battle of division rivals fighting for a playoff spot. Josh Valerio took the hill for Eastie and gutted out a complete game victory on 123 pitches. The offense did most of its damage in the 4th scoring 5 runs capped by extra base hits by Omar Ortiz and Moises Maza to take a 6 to 0 lead. The dodgers did not quit scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the fram and plating 2 more in the 5th. Valerio then clamped down to finish off the game and the Dodgers but not without a fight. The Dodgers left runners on base in both the 6th and 7th but Josh Valerio rose to the occasion to slam the door shut for the 6 to 5 victory.

DORCHESTER, MA......The Knights playoff push continues. The sophomore team continues to battle and play tight playoff type games down the stretch. Branden Eaton had the rock in this one and did not disappoint. He led the Knights the whole way not allowing an earned run while striking out 8 Dodgers without a walk. The offense woke up with 2 hits each by thier top four hitters (Higgins, Harris, Dowd and Ortiz) to set the pace for the Knights. Clutch hitting and an all around team effort got the job done for Eastie.
