Rookie Steve Lambert stepped up with a complete game 3-hitter as Al Thomas nipped South End 4-3. Lambert struck out 10 in yielding one earned run.

Ricky Salvucci had 2 hits for the A's, including the eventual go-ahead rbi in the 5th inning. John Kostas went 2 for 3 and Joe Barresi had a 2-run double. Lambert and Chuck Killens also collected base hits.

John Lunn pitched well for the Astros before tiring in the 5th, and Leo Villoreo crushed a home run.

Al Becker and Sean Glavin each hit Solo Home Runs in the first inning, propelling the Bluefish to a 9-5 win over South End on Friday Night at Rice. Becker, Glavin, Steve Mellor, and Mike Norsen each had 3 hits in the victory for the Bluefish. Matt Vezina was solid throughout on the mound for the Bluefish, taking a no-hitter into the 5th inning, before finally hitting some fatigue and finishing up allowing 5 hits.

In a well played game by both sides, the Astros come away with the extra inning win vs. the Dodgers. Rommer Peguro pitches the complete game for the South End. Chris Michienzi and Steve DeFusco pitch great for the Dodgers in a tough loss.

Malden started off a tough week of 5 straight games with a short-handed win against South End.

The Bulldogs were missing 4 starters on this steamy Sunday afternoon.

Mike Steele started the game for the Bulldogs. Malden scored 3 runs in the third on a couple of errors and a safety squeeze by Evan Tardugno.

In the 5th South End loaded the bases with one out. Malden made a pitching change and called on veteran Kevin McGovern. McGovern got a ground out and a K to end the frame.

Malden's dormant bats finally came alive in the later innings. Adam "Donkey" Del Rio blasted a 3 run homerun to left in the 6th.

Corey Carter capped the game off with a grand slam over the left corner of the scoreboard in left center.

Franny Rodriguez had an RBI groundout for South End.

The Brewers bats pumped out 17 hits against a short-handed Astros squad, highlighted by 7 runs and 7 hits in the 5th. Kevin Christina and Scott Barchard combined for 5 solid innings of relief.

Melvin Martinez went 2 for 3 with a solo shot and 2 runs scored to lead the Astros offense.

The Braves mounted a huge comeback in the bottom of the 7th to steal the victory from South End. The Braves scored 5 runs in the inning, all with 2-outs. After Astros pitcher Claudio Rodriguez retired the 1st two batters, Justin Depasse got things going with a walk. Two hits (Antoine & C. Sullivan), two walks (Sweeney brothers) and two fielding errors tied up the game at 8. With the bases loaded, Andrew Koris took a 2-2 curve in the back for the game winning RBI. Adam Antoine led the Braves offense going 2-3 with a double, run scored and walk. Joe Schlesinger picked up the win with 2.1 innings of 1-hit, shutout relief.

Rommer Peguero led the Astro offense with 2 hits, RBI and run. B Pimentel and M Rodriguez each had 2 hits.

Talal Saleh gets his 5th win of the season, going 6 strong innings, striking out 5, walking 5 and giving up 6 hits. All this after throwing 2 innings the night before and being the winning pitcher in the All Star game against Team Domincana.

Kenny Luongo was the story and then some on offense. Kenny went 3-4 with a walk, home run and 6 RBI's.
