The young pitching staff came up big, as Tim Vogel made his first start of the season. The lefthander pitched five strong innings, but came out with a no decision. In the 6th, another rookie, lefty Rich Dumas, came in to relieve Vogel and eventually pick up the win. Kyle Philson and AJ Bucciarelli had multi-hit nights and Steve Corda drove in two runs. The scrappy bats of the Maddogs pulled through in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game. But, in the top of the 8th, a infield single by Bucciarelli scored Pete John with what would prove to be the game-winner. Jay Wisner earned his second save of the season, both vs. Medford.
