It's funny how sometimes stats don't tell the whole story. Medford's All Star pitcher, Talal Saleh, had 9 strikeouts and gave up 7 hits while Jay "Doctor" Sholl, Savin Hill's talented lefty, K'd 6 with 6 hits. But, the final score went the doctor's way. Medford's 4 errors, one hit batter and an obstruction call plus timely hitting and stolen bases by the Hornets cost Talal dearly. Savin Hill's two errors were of no consequence. Not to take anything away from Sholl's performance, he was flat out brilliant on this day, as he and his battery mate, catcher Kyle Browne, plus solid defensive play by his team kept the Medford hitters off balance and in check this day. Savin Hill was able to avenge an earlier 7-1 loss to Medford and split the series with last year's Championship runner up.
