Alex Criscuolo and Zach Rubin hooked up in a pitcher's duel Saturday afternoon at Playstead Park. Sean Gordan's rbi single drew first blood in the top of the 4th, but Paul Jaglowski's 2-run double in the bottom on the inning put the Maddogs ahead until the 7th. After Mike Bivas lead off the inning by getting hit by the pitch, Dave Clarke hit a ball into the hole at short. The throw to second ended up in right field and the runners at 2nd and 3rd base with no outs. After single to tie the game by Pat McClay and a double by Gary Kaye to take the lead, the Hornet bats didn't stop til 6 runs had crossed the plate. The Maddogs rallied with 3 of their own in the bottom of the inning, but closer Matt Chase closed the door.
