The Hyde Park Bluefish and the Brighton Mariners started off their best of 5 series with a great nailbiter, but it was the Bluefish that held on to the 4-3 win to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Dan Sweeney's 2 out bases loaded walk scored Steve Corda giving the Bluefish the 3-2 lead. They would tack on a 4th run on an error. The Mariners did not go out without a fight. Garrett Tingle's single up the middle scored Dan Pill from 2nd to cut the deficit to 4-3. But closer Kit Kadlec got a ground out to 2nd base to end it. Chris Demers pitched very well for the Bluefish, going 6 innings giving up 2 hits, 2 runs, while walking 5 and striking out 6. Mariners' starter Jeremy Dalton battled all night, going 6 innings and getting a no-decision. Wes Greene hit his 2nd bomb in 2 days at Rogers, which at the time tied the game at 2. Ryan McCrann, Sean Glavin, and Jeremy Creveling each had 2 hits for the Bluefish.
