Lefty Scott Jamieson tossed a 3-hit shutout in his Yawkey League debut as the Al Thomas A's squeaked out a 1-0 win over the Brighton Mariners in the season opener. Matt Thayer scored the game's only run on a wild pitch in the 5th inning. Brian Powers and Jim Schindler each collected two hits to lead the Al Thomas Club. Jamieson held the Mariners hitless until Tony Iafolla singled to lead off the 5th inning. He walked none and struck out six. Dalton and Lieber pitched very well in defeat.
