Kent Anderson clubbed a walk-off grand slam to lead the South Boston Saints to an 8-5 win over the McKay Club Beacons Wednesday night at Ronan Park in Dorchester. Jon Tenney led off the last inning by battling for his twentieth walk of the season. Grizzled veteran Rob Stephenson then hit a sharp line drive down the third baseline, but it was snared by Beacon's third baseman Brian Curran. Alex Fischer didn't disappoint in the next at-bat, as he promptly lined a single to the outfield. Barthel then plunked leftfielder Ben Mendelson with the first pitch of the next at-bat. After an infield flare was caught for the second out, the stage was set for Anderson. After getting ahead in the count, Anderson took an inside fastball and drove a high, towering fly ball down the left field line. It seemed as if the leftfielder might have a play, but NO! Anderson won it with a walk off!
