After falling behind 7-0 in the 3rd the Indians rallied for 14 unanswered runs to win 14-8 over the mets. The Tribes first 5 hitters had two hits a piece to pace the comeback. Cleanup hitter John Sheppela broke the game open in the 6th with a 3 run dinger. Tom Manning picked up the win in relief with 7+innings of work in which he allowed no earned runs. Jay McNamara had a bases loaded base clearing double to spark the Mets in the 3rd but the Mets only managed one more run from the 3rd on.
