Rookie Southpaw Leo Corcoran tossed a complete game 5-hitter as the A's kept their first-place hopes alive with an 8-3 win over the Rockies. Peter Moores gave the Al Thomas Club a lead it would not relinquish in the first with a rbi single, while Mike Niland followed with a 3-run homer. Moores also added a sacrifice fly to score newcomer Jeff Hines, who had singled and moved to third base, in the 3rd inning. Sean Wilshere added a 2-run single in the 5th, while Chris Malloy blasted his league-leading 7th home run of the season in the 4th. Kyle Philson and Mike Close each laced a triple for the Revere squad.
