Matt Thayer's 2-out grounder skipped into left field to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning as the A's won a seesaw game, 4-3. Medford took a 1-0 lead on a passed ball in the 4th. Sean Gildea held the A's hitless until the 6th inning, when Chris Bucci's infield hit started a 2-run rally.
