Al Thomas slugger Chris McDonough's Sac fly in the the first put his team up 1-0. His two-out bomb for a double in the 2nd put the Athletics up 5-1. But that would be it for offense on the day and poor control and defense let Savin Hill crawl back into the game and trail only 5-3 into the 7th. Pat McClay, Freddi Carrera and Nate Hodor all ripped hits to lead off the 7th. The latter being a two-run double to tie the game. A's reliever Matt Bresnahan came in to close the door, but imploded in the 8th as the Hornets plated four runs for the win. Hornets' reliever Ben Johnson pitched three innings of one hit ball for his second win of the season. Steve Lambert and Mike Niland both had two-hits for Al Thomas.
