Brighton Brewers 3, Savin Hill Hornets 2
This one was a nail-biter from beginning to end. Savin Hill got on the board in the first with 3 hits. After that, Kevin Christina settled in, allowing only 3 hits and 1 unearned run through the reamining 6 frames. The Brewers offense did just enough to win a tight one, in which the tying run was in scoring position as the last out was made.
Mike Maguire had 2 hits and 2 SB on the day.
Gary Kaye had 2 hits for the Hornets, including a monster triple in the 5th that cut the lead to just 1. Gordon Lescinskis quieted the Brewers offense and gave the Hornets a chance at a comeback with 2+ innings of shutout relief. |
