The South Boston Saints continued their winning ways with a 9-1 thumping of the South End Astros at Jim Rice Field.

The Saints (4-1) received one of the best pitching performances across the Yawkey League in 2009 from Tim Dacey, who took a no-hitter into the final frame before finding himself on the other end of some tough luck. Dacey struck out six and walked only two through seven innings of three-hit ball for his first win of the season.

The Saints offense was paced by embattled Jon Tenney, who suffered a scary pre-game injury only to quickly recover for a stellar offensive night. Tenney's two hits, one walk, three RBI's, and three runs scored led an 11-hit South Boston attack. Rob Stephenson also added three hits, and red-hot Rob Linn extended his hit streak to five games.

South End's offense was paced by three substitutes, as it was Jesse Leavitt coming off the bench that ended Dacey's no-hit bid.
