Mike Close (2-4, 2B, 3B, 2RBI, 1R) and Kyle Philson (2-3, 1B, 2B, SAC, 2RBI) powered the offense as the Rockies pulled out the win, behind a great pitching performance by Daryl Pina (5IP, 5R, 0ER). Unfortunately errors (on both sides) didn't help the starter and dampened his chance to claim his 1st victory. Kyle Philson came in to pitch in the 7th to get the save. But it was Sean Kennedy's perfect 6th inning of work that recorded the win.
The Rockies scored 2 in the 2nd inning and 3 in the 4th inning to take a 5-0 lead. The defense collapsed in the 5th (3 errors) as the Mariners fought back by scoring 4 runs and bringing the game back to even ground. Errors in the field by the Mariners helped the Rockies plate the winning run in the bottom of the 6th.
