East Boston Knights 6, South End Astros 2
Max Ockner and the Knights offense too much for the Astros as they clinch the series 3 games to 1. Knights pound out 10 hits and grind out 6 runs capped by a bases loaded triple by Kenny Polanco in the 1st inning giving the Knights a 3 to 0 lead they would never reliquish. Ockner Ks 9 and allows just 4 hits leading the Knights to the victory. Knights move on to face the winner of the Rockies and Athletics series. |

Brad Presler made the start tonight, just a day after pitching 2 emergency relief innings! He gave the Astros 3.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits. Fireballer Vlady Camacho would come in and work thru some control issues to pick up the win, striking out 8, including all 3 batters in the 7th inning!
Offensively, the 3-4 hitters stayed HOT! Alvarez was 3-4 and scored 3 times, while Vasquez was 2-3 with 2 RBI. Third baseman Jose Toussen also chipped in with 2 RBI. The Astros would not have won this game if not for 2 amazing catches in the outfield! Peguero made a great catch early in the game, sliding on his knees and preventing a run from scoring and Reyes made an amazing diving catch on a hard hit line drive to left! A much needed W puts the Astros right back into the playoff hunt! |
