Evan Schein had an unlucky first inning in his first start of the year for the Braves. The Cyclones plated 5 runners on 4 bloop singles and a Braves error. Schein then settled down allowing only 2 more hits the rest of the night with 9 Ks. The Braves answered in the bottom of the first with 4 runs. The game remained deadlocked until bottom 6 when the Braves broke through with 5 runs on 4 hits, 2 BB and 2 HbP. Chris Dion threw 122 pitches enroute to his first YBL victory tonite. Leading 4-1 going into the top of the 7th, the Braves mounted a late game rally to get within 1, but the Cyclones held onto to the game and the 4-3 win. Jay Klemm had the game winning RBI in the bottom of the 6th for the Cyclones giving them the 4-1 lead.

Sam Kennedy-Smith moves to 3-1 on the season with a victory over the Rockies on a rainy night at Chelsea. K-Smith worked 5 strong inning allowing both Rockies runs on 7 hits before turning the ball over to Jimmy Burns who pitched 2 shutout innings in releif.

It was a total team effort for the Cyclones getting 8 hits and earning 5 walks to keep the offense going.

Chelsea and West Roxbury matched up for a great game Tuesday at Chelsea High. Sam Kennedy-Smith took the ball for the Cyclones and pitched a shutout through the 6th working out of trouble on a couple of occassions with the help of the Chelsea defense. Jimmy Burns got the ball in the 7th and made things interesting, loading the bases with one out, but got out of the jam and earned himself a save and the team a win.

Angelo Scippa scored on a big hit and run play in the 3rd when CF Chris Brown crushed a shot to deep center which landed him on 3rd.

Beacons jumped out to a 7-0 lead in 1st on 3 hits. Added 4 more in the 3rd and coasted from there. Nick O'Keefe, 19 year old from Anna Maria College was sidelined since opening day with an elbow problem. He came up large and in charge tonight. Nick had 4IP; no runs; 2H and walked 4.

Peter Karl pitched the 5th and got the win even tho the he gave a HR that broke the shutout.

Karl was 2 for 4 scored twice as well. he was joined Mike Barthel 2 for 4 one run scored and 2RBI. Drew Tambling went 2 fro 4; scored twice had 3 stolen bases and 3 RBI. Jake Souto came off the bench and went 2 for 3.

Chelsea's #8 batter Brown smashed two homers - a solo job in the 5th off Karl and a two run liner off of Tim Brettington in the 6th.

Matt "Mango" Manganelli, got into early trouble in the first walking 4 and allowing 3 runs, despite the early struggles, Manganelli took a no hitter into the 6th and after walking 1 got 2 quick outs before Joe Barresi broke up the no hitter. Manganelli pitched another great game for the Cyclones earning is second victory of the yr. Jimmy Burns came to get the final out in the 6th and worked a perfect 7th inning to close out the Beacons and earn his first save of the yr.

Christian Barros continues his hot streak scoring 3 times and going 2 for 4 at bat. Rookie Angelo Scippa had big triple in the 2nd to drive in a run and CJ Townsend drove in 2 with a single in the 4th to break a 3-3 tie. Brian DeVenne gave the Cyclones and extra run in the 7th with a big RBI double to score Townsend and put the Cyclones up 6-4.

With the win Manganelli evens his record at 2 and 2

Matt "Mango" Manganelli pitched the first complete game shutout for the Chelsea squad tonite. Manganelli went the distance surrendering only 4 hits, striking out 5,walking 2 and hitting a batter. Chelsea played good defense behind Manganelli with 2nd baseman Christian Barros having 5 assists and 2 put outs which included a pickoff of Steve Lambert by catcher Kyle Browne. Barros also had the 2nd RBI of the night with a double in the bottom of the 6th.

LF Angelo Scippa had the first RBI of the game in the 4th and RF Chris Brown scored both of the Chelsea runs.

The A's played well behind Dan Gaughan who took the loss. Lambert 2 for 2 and HBP

Brookline rookie SP Chris Michienzi got the win in his YBL debut as the Dodgers defeat the Cyclones at Ross Field. 5 Dodgers had multiple hit games, led by LF Joe Patrolia (3-4, 2 R, 4 RBI) and 3B Gregg Smith (2-4, 2 R, 2B, 4 RBI, SB).

Dodgers DH Marty Whitmore (2-2, 3 R, 2B, 3 BB, RBI) continued to get on base at a ridiculous rate, reaching all 5 times he stepped to the plate. CF Jay Shatto went 2 for 5 with a run, and RF Steve Walsh added 2 hits and 2 RBI while scoring once.

Brookline committed 0 errors for the first time in 2008, with rookie SS Derek Barauskas (1 PO, 4 assists) turning a slick 6-3 double play to end Chelsea's first inning. Cyclone LF Angelo Scippa hit a 3 run triple in the 3rd, and Chelsea would get within 1, but Michienzi held the offense in check in key situations on a windy night at Ross.

Brookline continues its heavy hitting with an 11-5 win over the Cyclones in Chelsea. The Dodgers got another strong outing from Shaun 'Hoss' Farrar (2-0), who went 6 innings of 5 hit, no walk, 7 K ball. Farrar threw only 69 pitches, showing masterful control.

The Dodgers hit 3 more HR, with CF Jay Shatto (2nd, 3-4, 2 R, HR, 3B, 2 RBI), LF Joe Patrolia (3-4, solo HR) and 2B Andy Zides (2-3, 3-R HR, 2B, 4 RBI) all going deep off of Chelsea starter Jay Scholl (0-2).

Brookline C Bryan Duffy added 2 hits, with a double and 2 RBI, and rookie 1B Jared Doucette went 1-3 with a walk and 2 runs. The Dodger's offense pounds out 13 more hits, and have scored 32 runs (5 HR's) in 3 games this season.

The Spinners ace Randy Casey opened the season against the Chelsea Cyclones. The game was tight through 7 but the Spinners pulled it out in the bottom of the 7th inning on a J.Tufo single to pick up the opening day victory.

Casey pitched a great game letting up 3 hits and having 10 strikeouts.
