Wild game at Maplewood. Malden scored 2 in the bottom of the 1st and rode the arm of Ken Olisky for 3 perfect innings, and a shutout through 4. In the 5th, after an error, Sean Glavin hit a long 2 run home run to tie the game at 2. As quickly as the Bluefish tied the game, Malden went ahead 4-2 on a long home run by Tom Englehart. It remained 4-2 into the 7th, where the Bluefish scored 5 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks, highlighted by a Mike Lembo single making it 4-3, a Jason Recore bases loaded walk that tied the game, a 2 run single by Al Becker making it 6-4, and a Bobby Foote Sac Fly. Bluefish starter Nate Titcomb, pitching for the first time in over 3 weeks, kept the Fish in it, going 5 innings giving up 4 hits and 4 runs. Matt Smith pitched a scoreless 6th for the win, and Ian Titcomb pitched a scoreless 7 for the save. |
