ROXBURY -- After a statement victory vs. the Royals three days prior, the Mariners looked to keep their momentum vs. the south division leaders. Billy Hunt led the M's offensively, providing a clutch 2-out RBI, in addition to his run scored, stolen base, SAC bunt, & walk. Nick Malatesta returned to the mound with an inspiring complete game performance keeping the Royals bats quiet, punching out eight, and adding a pinch hit 2-out RBI single in the 5th. The Mariners improved their record to 5-4, while handing the Royals their second loss in less than a week dropping their record to 6-3.
