South End Astros 4, Savin Hill Dodgers 2
The South End Astros and New England College's Esdras Rojas scattered 6 hits while striking out 6 and only allowing one run to cross the plate in the very first inning of the season along with only the second in the 5th. Rojas earned his first complete game win for the season and the team in one game so far.
Anthony Baez led off his Yawkey career with a hard hit double. Jose Toussen continued his Astros career collecting his first hit of the season off a bat that died happy. Jordan Matos pinch hit with a solid double of his own. Connor Henry stayed with it til his last AB of the day to collect his first single of the season.
Great defensive work all around including 2 tough double plays and some great snags on some tough hops and high flies helped secure this great team win for the Astros.
For Savin Hill, Yee (on a 1B) and Diaz (on a SAC F8) picked up the RBI's.
Tuttle took the loss for Savin Hill after pitching 6 innings. |
