On a sweltery night in Woonsocket, the Rathskeller Hops defeated the Warriors 5-3. The Hops were lead by stellar pitching by Gary Trottier. In his Hops debut, Trottier was mean for 7 strong innings allowing 2 earned on 3 hits, striking out 9 with 3 walks and a hit batsman. He said he felt "right at home" throwing to Veteran Joey Abarr. Abarr, who also had a day for himself backpacking a runner, making a great pick on a one hopper during a fielders choice and breaking open the scoring with a 2 run single in the 4th. Also making debuts were Lou Deleon (2-4) 2 doubles and a walk, run scored and Andrew Salpietro who went 2-4 with a run scored and a walk. A good 8th inning from John Jacobellis, gave way to Matty Borges who picked up the save, striking out the side despite allowing an unearned run to score walking two batters and hitting another.
