Sun, 29 June, 1:00PM, at Dorchester - Garvey
Tigers 12, Cutters 10
Tigers win a barn-burner, as they beat the defending Champ Cutters 12-10 at Garvey, with the two teams combining for 22 runs on 27 hits. Wlodarczyk grinded out the win after a rough 1st inning, with Malaret finishing things off for his first save.
Things got started quickly as Booch reached and scored on Glavin's single, as the Cutters scored 5 on 4 hits in the top of the 1st. The Tigers stemmed the tide with a run in the bottom half, and broke out with 8 in the 3rd on 8 hits including a 2 RBI single by Giblin, and RBI singles by 4 of the other starters.
RW held the lead into the top of the 7th before things got close as 4 Cutters rapped out singles before Merv got the last 2 outs with a K to close it. Pat Long had a big day at the plate (3-4, 3RBI, R), while Sway, Merv, and JP each had 2 hit days. |
