Trailing 7-6, the Indians battled back and scored 6 runs in the 6th inning to take the lead and the win. The big inning was sparked by doubles by Daryl Pina and Lee Hughes.
Pina (1-0) also picked up his first win of the season by striking out six in three innings of relief. Plus, he knocked in 3 runs with his bases loaded double and finished the day 2 for 3 with 2 two-baggers and 4 RBI. Tom Lank and Justin Boynton chipped in with 2 hits apiece and Lee Hughes added 2 RBI. All in all, 8 of 9 Indians had a hit and 8 of 9 scored a run.
For the White Sox, Jon Mead continued to lead his squad, going 2 for 4 with his co-league-leading 2nd triple of the season. |
