Harbor Point Dodgers 5, Chelsea Cyclones 2
Chris Arenda threw the first no-hitter in Dodger franchise history, as the Brookline Dodgers beat the Chelsea Royals 5-2. Striking out 4 in the outing, Arenda worked both sides of the plate with mastery, and kept the Royals batters off balance with the curve and change-up. Solid defensive play behind him for 6 innings kept the no-no in tact, but there was a bit of a scare in the 7th with a walk, a HBP and a couple errors, which made the finale that much more exciting.
Jay Shatto and Matt Nussbaum both went 3-4, while Shatto had 2 SB's, and Nussbaum also added 2 RBI's to lead the offense for Brookline. Gregg Smith went 2-4, and 4 other Dodgers had one hit a piece.
This was Brookline's 5th win in a row, and face a tough Medford team next. |
