East Boston Bluefish 2, Revere Rockies 1
The Rockies lose a nail-biter to the rival Bluefish tonight. In a pitchers duel for the ages, Mike McCarthy and Chris Demers locked horns for one of the season’s best. Demers went the distance for the win; the Rock’s Jay Wisner took the loss in relief. Kevin Spitz’s RBI double in the 2nd was the only offense the Rockies could muster all night. The Rockies McCarthy threw a six-inning shutout and was lifted for the YBL’s save leader Jay Wisner in the seventh with a 1-0 lead. Two hits, a SAC, and error and a walk would push across both the tying and winning runs for the ‘Fish. Former Rockie AL Becker notched the game winning, walk-off single in dramatic fashion. |
