This was one for the books. The Rockies' backs were to the wall down 2 games to none and they came out swinging. Revere took a 7-0 lead after the top of the 4th. Lead off hitter Buccarelli had 3 hits and a walk. Close, Moran and Roper each had 2 hits for the Rockies.

Medford never quit. They scored 3 in the bottom of the 4th paced by doubles by Buddy Hanley and Scotty Lynch. The Dogs tied it at 7 in the last of the 5th on 6 hits, the big one being a Pete McKeown double.

After falling behind again by a run, with one out in the top of the 6th Sean Gildea came on in relief of starter, Sean Morrissey, with the bases loaded, Gildea got 2 outs without allowing any more damage.

The Dogs tied it again in the last of the 6th on a Johnny Cunningham single, a passed ball and a Joe Sheehan single.

After Mike Hudd pitched a scoreless 8th inning, Joe Sheehan hit a 2-out double and Jay Sablone won it with the walk off single.

Sean Gildea turned in a masterful performance, going the distance, striking out 8 and walking only 1. With the help of a double play, a caught stealing and a pick off, Gildea pitched to only 4 batters over the limit.

Pete McKeown had 2 hits, including a triple. Mike Hudd scored twice and had a hit. Buddy Hanley added a hit and a walk with a run and Jay Sablone knocked in a run with a sac fly and was hit by 2 pitches.

The Big E-Dog, Eammon McDonough went the distance striking out 5 and walking only 1. Eamonn helped himself out defensively with a put out and 4 assists.

Johnny Cunningham doubled in 2 runs and Joe Sheehan knocked in the third run. Pete McKeown had 2 hits and scored a run.

McCarthy and Guarino pitched well for the Rockies striking out 8. Close triples in the Rockies only run with a bomb down the right field line.

A 4 run 4th inning, highlighted by Leland Boutilier's 2RBI double, gave the Rockies a win in their final game of the regular season. Ken Kilduf started the game after a 2 week layoff due to injury and went 4 strong to start the game. But it was Luke Guarino who picked up the win, going to strong innings in relief. Boutilier ended the day with 2RBI and 2R scored to lead the offense. Dave Mitrou and and Sean Magee also had RBI on the day.

Gauvin vs Szathmary, battle of two top pitchers in the league. Gauvin pitched 7 innings, SO 12, gave up 1ER, allowing 3 hits. Szathmary pitched 7 innings, SO 9, gave up 1ER, allowing 3 hits. Unbelievable how close the lines are.... Luckily for us Gauvin came out on top to pick up the win.

Sean Magee had 2 of the 3 Rockie hits and plated the game winning RBI in the 2nd inning on a single to score Crossman. Dave Mitrou had the only other hit.

For Somerville, their lone run came in the 6th: a leadoff double by Scioli, DesRoches moves him to 3B on a FC, and Feetham scores him on another FC.

This was a great game of top pitchers....

Mike McCarthy continued his winnings ways and making a bid for that Cy Young award. He allowed 1R in 7 innings of work, striking out 10 batters and walking 1. McCarthy is 6-0-3 on the year. AJ Bucciarelli was 2-4 with 1R and 1 RBI to help lead the offense. It was Gary Moran's leadoff single in the 2nd, and Bucciarelli's single to score him that gave the Rockies the 2 runs they would need on the day.

Schilling took the loss for McKay Club. Duggan was a perfect 3-3 at the plate.

Dave Mitrou went a perfect 2-2 (1B, 2B) at the plate, scoring 3 times and driving in 1RBI to help the Rockies come from behind to secure the win. Chris McCarthy started in the hill (his forst start of the season) and pitched 5 innings and giving up just 3R, 2ER. He did not factor into the win unfortunately. Scott Dunlop pitched a perfect 6th inning and gets the win as the Rockies score 4 runs in the bottom of the inning to pull ahead for the first time all game. Mike McCarthy came in to get the SAVE, striking out 2 batters in the 7th. Sean Magee had 3RBI's in a 2-4 performance.

McDonnell was 2-3, 1RBI for Chelsea. Sciarappa pitched 5 strong innings but got a no decision as well. McGovern took the loss.

Kevin Spitz and Kyle Philson combined to pitch 6 innings of shutout baseball. The lone South Boston score came in the seventh inning. Kyle Philson picked up the win, his first of the season, going 4 strong inninings in relief. Spitz came out of the game in the 4th, due to injury.

Dave Mitrou's triple with 2 outs in the 3rd got things going offensively. Leland Boutilier drove him home with a single to RF. Gary Moran had 2 RBIs on a 2-3 day at the plate.

Tenney pitched 6 strong innings for South Boston, but ended up with the loss. Grammer had 2 hits for the Saints.

Kyle Philson went 3-4 with 2R and 1 RBI. Great defense at SS by Sean Magee, at 3B by Kevin Spitz, and at 1B by Gary Moran stopped all West Roxbury rallies.

Mike Close, Neal Roper, Gary Moran, Kyle Philson all had multi-hit performances.

The Rockies took advantage of 11 walks to squeak out a victory over the Yankees. Dave Mitrou led off the first inning with a walk, stealing second, and scored on a Kevin Spitz RBI. Mirtou (2-3, 2B, 2R, 1RBI, SB) and Spitz (2-4, 2RBI) provided all the offense for this game.

The highlight of the game came in the top of the 7th when the Yankees needed 1 run to take the game to extra innings. The leadoff batter walked, the 2nd batter hit a long double to RF that rolled to the fence. Mike Close tracked it down, fired to 1B, who then fired home to tag out the runner trying to score from first. With a man now on 3rd (advancing on the throw), Mike McCarthy was called on to shut the door. McCarthy got the SAVE facing just 2 batters, SO 1.

The Yankees pounded out 9 hits on the day.

South End scored 7 runs in the first 2 innings to jump all over the Rockies. The score was 10-2 before the Rockies staged a comeback and tied the game in the 7th, scoring 6 runs in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings.

Rodriguez pitched well for the Astros, leaving the game after 5 innings with a 5 run lead, but got the no-decision. Peguero and Santuro each had 2 hits for the Astros.

Mike Close had 3 RBI and Dave Mitrou and AJ Bucciarelli each had 3R scored.

It was McCarthy vs DeRoches. The 2 battled out as both went the distance to highlight a great game. In the end it came down to defense.

In the 2nd, Dan Jalbert led off the inning with a double. Kevin Spitz moved him to third, and Gary Moran got him home on a fly ball to left field that was misplayed, to score what eventually was the game winning run.

In the 4th, Jalbert led off with a single, and moved to second on a pass ball. Kevin Spitz moves him to third. Neal Roper gets the sacrifice fly to score the second run of the game.

Dan Jalbert was 2-3, 2R, 2B to lead all offense. Mike McCarthy struck out 6, walked 2, and allowed no runs to get the win.

DeRockes took the loss giving up just 1 ER over 7 innings, striking out 7, walking 0.

AJ Bucciarelli continued to stay hot as he scored 3 times. Bryan Gauvin pitched 5 innings, allowing 1 ER, to pick up the win. Mike McCarthy closed the door shutting out the Bombers in the 6th and 7th. Dan Jalbert led all hitters with 3 hits and 4 RBIs, including a 2RBI first inning triple.

After both teams combined to score 4 runs in the 1st inning, bats fell quiet until the 6th inning. The Braves scored 2 runs in the 6th to tie the score in the top of the inning. The Rockies answered with 6 runs of their own on 6 hits.

Kevin Spitz and Dan Jalbert each collected 3 hits. Jalbert's 1st inning HR and 6th inning doubled plated 3 batters to give him 3 RBIs on the day. Gary Moran also had a multi hit day and collected 2 RBIs. Brian Cooper also had 2 hits in the #2 whole.

The score may not have shown it, but this was a well played game for both teams offesnively and defensively.

With the score 2-1 heading into the 3rd, the Rockies found their bats and sent 10 batters to the plate and scored 5 runs to take control and get the win. Leland Boutilier returned to action as he went 2-3 and recorded 2 RBIs. Dan Jalbert also had 2 hits in the day.

Mike McCarthy and Sean Magee combined to shutdwon the Braves, allowing just 2 runs.

Luke Guarino picked up his 2nd win of the season throwing a seven inning shutout. He struck out 11 batters and allowed just 1 hit, and 1 walk, as he cruised to victory. His counter part, Trevor Donelan also pitched well as the 2 of them battled through 4 scoreless innings. It wasn't until the 5th inning when Kyle Philson singled in 1 run and Dan Jalbert singled in 2 runs to plate the only runs of the game.

The Bluefish win their first ever YBL game, 3-2 vs. the Revere Rockies on Tuesday Night at Ross Park. Omar Kennedy's 2 run single scored Sean Glavin and Kit Kadlec to give the Bluefish the 3-2 lead. Quinn Ryan, making his Bluefish debut on the mound, battled all night, going 5 2-3 innings, giving up 8 hits, 2 runs (1 earned) while walking 2 and striking out 6. Kit Kadlec got the final 4 outs, including getting out of a bases loaded jam in the 6th, to record his first save.
Dave Mitrou went 3-3 in and Kevin Spitz had 2 hits in defeat for the Rockies.

Bill Clang pitched a complete game for the Devils, only giving up 5 hits.

The rain held off long enogh for us to finally get out and play some ball. The 1st 4 innings was nothing but a pitchers dual between the startes, McCarthy vs. Roberts. Heading into the 5th inning McCarthy had the edge 1-0. But the bats came alive for the Rockies as 2 runs were plated on 2 hits, SAC, and 1BB. Dan Jalbert shot his second hit of the game up the middle to record his second RBI of the game.

Kyle Philson, Dan Jalbert and Gary Moran all had 2 hits to lead the offense. Mike McCarthy got his forst win of the season, improving his Rockie opening day record to 3-1. Bryan Gauvin got the save in relief.

Steve Roberts took the tough loss for the Bluefish.
