Somerville's Sean Sullivan spins a complete game to lead the Alibrandis back to the finals with a 5-1 victory in game four against Stoneham. David Lightbody smashed a long three run home run to left in the first to pace the offensive attack.

#2 Somerville will await the winner of #1 East Boston and #5 Revere for the 2015 YBL Finals.

Chris Foundas earns the win with 6.2 innings allowing just one run. Brian Tanguy records his first save of the playoffs with a huge strikeout to end the game with the tying run at first.

Sabers win a pitchers duel 2-1 and win the series 3-0

Cummings tossed 6 solid innings letting up 1 run on 9 hits while striking out 5 to earn the win and Montiverdi would earn the save

Greeley was the tough luck loser giving up only 2 runs

The Sabers would strike first with a RBI single by Luciano to score Flanagan

The Braves would tie the game on an RBI single by Glantz

In the 7th Botarelli would hit a lead off single and steal a base to get into scoring position. Then Flanagan would hit a game winning RBI single to plate Botarelli

However, Brighton would threaten with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out when Botelho would hit a fly ball to RF. Pizarro would make the catch and fire a strike to Adams at the plate to throw out Tracy to send the Sabers into the semi finals in dramatic fashion

Brighton battled hard until the final out. Congrats to Teddy and Ed a great addition to the coaching staff on a successful season

Sabers would get on the board first with RBI hits by Luciano and Colucci

7-0 Morse vs 7-1 Dubela faced off. Both let up 2 runs until the bullpens took over and kept the game a stale mate

Stoneham's Lenane had an RBI double to take the lead early

Somerville's Dziuba answered with a 2 RBI double

Colucci would tie the game in 5th with an RBI single

Somerville's Adessa and Stoneham's Flanagan made great plays to save runs

Games was a dead lock for the last 5 innings before the lights went off right at the end of the 10th

19 year old rookie Joey Zampell throws a complete game to help defeat the Knights 4-3 in a playoff atmosphere

Zampell beared down all night like he was a YBL veteran. Zampell let up 9 hits, 3 runs, 0 earned, striking out 4 Knights to earn his 2nd win of the season

The Knights would score first on a Saber miscue and Paulino would take advantage and follow with a 2 RBI double

Sabers battle back in the 5th. Chapman, Creamer and Curtin would load the bases. Flanagan would get the ball to the right side of the infield to plate Chapman. Pizarro would follow with an RBI bunt and a throwing error would allow Curtin to score on an Adams hit ball

Lenane would lead off the 6th with a single when Curtin would follow by putting the ball in play and another miscue allowed Lenane to score the winning run

Luciano had 3 hits

The Rockies would strike first on RBI singles by Hartery and Laliberte in the top half of the 3rd

In the bottom half the Sabers would battle back. Kevin Luciano, Dionys Quezado and Stefan Botarelli would load the bases for Stoneham. When Jon Chapman would put a ball in play and a Rockie miscue would allow Botarelli to score. Sean Curtin would then come up and launch a game winning 2 RBI triple to center

In the 4th, Quezada would blast a solo home run for insurance

The Sox would strike first with a RBI by Hopwood to break the dead lock in the 6th

The Sabers would threaten in the bottom half of the 6th but fall short

In the 7th with one out, Jon Chapman would draw a clutch walk and Joey Zampell would come in to pinch run. With 2 outs Ryan Flanagan would hit a single to right field to advance Zampell to third. Derek Pizarro would then drop in a clutch RBI single to score Zampell to tie the game. Angelo Colucci would get hit by pitch to load the bases for Kevin Luciano who would then hit a walk off single into the gap in right center

Sabers win a pitcher duel 2-1

Greg Dubela faced off against Kyle Breidenstine. Both let up an un earned run early, until Stoneham broke the deck lock in the top half of the 7th

Dubela went 5.2 innings, striking out 8, while scattering 6 hits to earn a tough luck no decision

With the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 6th the Dodgers threatened. The Sabers called upon Andrew LeBlanc who ended the rally with a clutch strikeout of McGrath swinging and also earned himself the win

The Sabers would load the bases in the top of the 7th and Kevin Luciano would hit the game winning sacrifice fly to score Zack Rice

The Dodgers threatened again with 1st and 2nd nobody out in the bottom half of the 7th, but Chris Dion would come in to close out the game and earn the save

Adams had 2 hits for the Sabers and a RBI

Hodor and Whittie had two hits for the Dodgers

Nathan Hodor gets the win for the Dodgers both with his bat and with his arm. On a hot Sunday afternoon at the (oceanless) beach the Dodgers came into the game shorthanded against the playoff bound Sabers. Dodgers score 1 in the first and another in the fourth. That would be enough for Hodor's pitching performance. Though the Sabers showed off some power hitting (two 2B and one 3B), solid Dodger defense got the timely outs they needed.

Hodor 2 for 3 with a 3RBI triple in the 6th. Dubin scored twice, Smith had 2 RBIs and Cady had 1 RBI.

ATBC keeps the momentum rolling with a win at the beach against Stoneham. Will Clang was poised through 6, only giving up 2. Willie Archibald came in to slam the door in the 7th, going 1, 2, 3. At the plate, the A's were resourceful, scoring when they had opportunities. Altogether a good way to come out of a week off.

The Black Sox would strike first with a Sac Fly from Sudbeck in the 1st. The Sabers would come back and tie the game on an RBI triple by Luciano to score Botarelli and Colucci would follow with an RBI single to take the lead.

In the 2nd the Sox would add 2 more to take the lead once again.

The Sabers would battle back yet again in the 5th. Luciano and Colucci would reach base before Lenane would lace an RBI game winning single.

The Sabers would add 4 insurance runs in the 6th to secure the win.

Greg Dubela would pitch 3 shutout innings in relief to earn his 6th win of the season.

Colucci led the offense with 3 hits and 2 RBI. Botarelli, Adams, and Lenane had multi-hit games.

Beulke, De La Cruz and Hopwood had 2 hits for the Sox

Sabers rally from behind to defeat the Knights 17-7

An RBI double by Colucci would give the Sabers an early 1-0 lead. However, that certainly would not be enough

After both teams exchanged runs for a few innings, the Knights would plate 7 runs through the first 3 innings to take a 7-3 lead

However, the Sabers would battle back. With RBI singles by Adams and Colucci to help close the gap in the 4th. Leanne would also rip a ball that was mishandled to allow another to score

Down by 1 run in the 5th, Derek Pizarro would hit a game winning bases clearing triple. The Sabers would add 7 more in the inning for insurance and 1 more in the 6th

Brett Manley would come in relief an earn his first win of the season and Chris Dion would close out the game

Pizarro led the offense with 4 hits and 4 RBI

Colucci, Rice and Luciano had 3 hits each

Every Saber who batted recorded a hit

Dunlap extended his hitting streak

Smith throws another gem as the Braves blank the Sabers 1-0 at Rec Park. Smith gets the complete game shutout allowing just 3 hits and whiffs 6.

Smith also helps himself at the plate, going 1-2 with a double, walk and scores the winning run.

In the 5th, Smith walks to lead off the inning and DeFusco singles. They advance to 3rd on a Humphrey ground out. Coscione then chops a grounder between the plate and the mound, Smith breaks for home, a close play at the plate and Smith is called safe.

As a last minute replacement on the hill, Dion throws a complete game gem of his own but gets the tough luck loss.

Botarelli and Parlow each had a double for the Sabers.

Xael Tejada picks up his 1st win of the season going 6 strong innings, scattering 5 hits and giving up 1 run. Nelson Barreiro finished it off in the 7th, striking out the side!

Offensively the Astros were lead by veterans Chris Deane (3-3, RBI) and Carl Rodriguez (2-3, 2RBI), and young stud 1st baseman Alberto Vasquez (3-4). Young shortstop Frankely Gonzalez was amazing in the field showing off his range and cannon for an arm! The Astros are back to .500!

Dubela earned his 200th career YBL strikeout for Stoneham

The Sabers would strike early. Pizarro would score on a Colucci hit. Parlow would add an RBI single to score Adams. Followed by a big Lenane 2 RBI single to score Colucci and Parlow

The Sabers would add another in the 2nd, with an RBI single by Adams

In the 3rd, Luciano would blast a solo homerun

In the 4th, Parlow would hit a sac FLY to score Pizarro and Luciano would hit an RBI triple to score Adams for more insurance

Even with 8 runs, the Rockies stormed back. The Rockies plated 7 runs through the 4th and 6th innings, before Chris Dion would close the door

Sabers rally back to defeat the Maddogs 4-3

Dave Montiverdi got the start for the Sabers. After letting up a few runs in the 1st inning, Dave settled down nicely to keep the Malden bats at bay

In the 4th Joey Zampell would come in relief to pick up his first career YBL win. Zampell tossed 4 innings of shutout baseball and scattered only 2 hits, while striking out 2 batters

The Maddogs got on the bored early with a bases loaded single by Stanton that eventually plated 3

The Sabers would battle back in the 3rd. Travis Adams would hit in Ryan Flanagan for the first run of the inning. Followed by RBI singles by Angelo Colucci and Derek Pizarro to tie up the game

In the 5th, Flanagan and Stefan Botarelli would hit back to back singles. When Adams would hit a RBI game winning fielders choice to score a head first diving Flanagan into home plate to take the lead for good

Flanagan and Botarelli had 2 hits for the Sabers

After a rain and rake delay, the Maddogs get back in the win column with a 7-0 victory over the visiting Stoneham Sabers at Maplewood Park Tuesday.

Kendall Chaves carried the load, throwing a complete game 5-hitter with eight Ks. Jim Cain led the Dogs with 3 hits and a run, while Pete Maltzan's squeeze bunt in the bottom of the fifth gave the Maddogs the 1-0 lead, and that ended up being enough for Chaves.

The Sabers would strike early. Stefan Botarelli and Angelo Colucci would reach base for Dionys Quezada. Quezada would launch on what would be a game winning 2 RBI triple to score Botarelli and Colucci. Jon Chapman would then follow with an RBI single of his own.

Botarelli would hit in Ryan Flanagan in the 6th to add an insurance run for Stoneham

Sean Curtin would throw out a Knight at the plate in the 4th

Polanco had 2 hits for the Knights

Black Sox win their third straight scoring four runs in the bootom of the sixth. Matt Nicholson went the didstance to pick up his second win of the seaosn. Nicholson would scatter five hits, walking one and hitting one batter in completing this shutout.
