Tom Dowey was in control in consecutive starts against Brockton allowing only 2 runs over 6. Mike Barthel led the hit parade with 2 triples and single, hitting 2 balls 400+ ft. Churchill, Spadafino,Varakis & Deane each had 3 hits a piece with Spadifino flashing the leather at short(with a little help from Barthel). Also 2 nice running catches by Lebrun in center. |

Well pitched game by both teams.
Dan Pill allowing 1st hit in 6th for Sox and his frisbee pitch worked well. Paul Laurin scattered 6 hits over 6 innings by nibbling at the strike zone and working on the mound about as fast as Karpo can run. Laurin had a 2 run single in the 6th to bring the Thunder within 1 run.
Waltham then called upon The Wiz, Jay Wisner who comes in to secure the win throwing 6 pitches in 7th. |
