It was open mic night at Town Field tonight, and Palmer brought the noise, winning a great pitching match-up that saw Trafecanty out-duel Desai. Trafecanty went 6 and 1/3 and allowed just 3 singles to pick up the W. Desai threw well for ADSL, going the distance and allowing just 5 hits in the contest. But unlike Game 1, Palmer received clutch hitting with runners on base to scratch 4 across on the tough lefty. The Palmer offense was carried by Dorian Rojas (2-3, RBI) and Marvin Malaret (1-2, 2 RBI) early, and Jim Pierce drove home an insurance run in the 7th. Rojas led off the 4th with a bomb to left that went for a double. Malaret then launched a scud missile over the right center field wall to break a scoreless tie that put Palmer up 2-0. Palmer added a run in the 6th when Phelan reached on an infield single, stole 2nd, and scored on Rojas' 2nd hit after a lengthy at-bat resulting in a clean line drive to left center.
