Tonight's game was delayed as access to the ball park was blocked by the BPD as they rounded up a handful of young gun toting hoods trying to evade them on bicycles. Score BPD-4, Hoods 1.

The Hornets provided some fire power of their own as the blasted 10 hits including a double, triple and a homer.

Young Belmont rookie Chris Nichols(LF) stroked a 2 RBI home run in the second inning giving the Hornets a 5 - 0 early lead.

Janelle from Southie led the cheers for both teams as a pretty good crowd of fans enjoyed a cool summer breeze at beatiful Savin Hill by the sea.

It was the first YBL victory for Hornet Pitcher Gordon "Gordo" Lescinskis whose fast ball was both explosive and deadly this night.

Mike Barthell tossed a gem. A complete game two hitter to help his mates clinch a tie for a playoff spot and end the McKay Club two year playoff drought.

Nando Trindidade hit a sac fly to center to plate Chris Deane with the winning run in the 3rd. Barthell was the word all day as he struck out 7 and walked only one.

Shaun Farrer pitched well enough to win for the plucky Dodgers. He also went the distance allowed 2 runs on 11 scattered hits.

Now the Beacons must wait to see what South Boston does the next two nights @ Town Field.

The Braves broke out of their 6-game skid by beating the Dodgers 5-1 at Rogers Park. James Greeley scattered 7 hits allowing 0 ER, 1 BB and 6 SO. The Braves offense was led by Jared Cianciolo who went 3-4 with 2 RBI and a SB. Tracy, Ramsdell and Cashman all had 2 hits a piece as well.

Steve Walsh went 2-4 for the Dodgers and Marc Skipper supplied the RBI.

Tim Dacey held the Brookline Dodgers in check pitching Southie to a 2-1 victory. Zider of the Dodgers broke up 5 straight hitless inning by Dacey, with a mammoth triple.

Shaun Farrar battled all night to get the shutout win on a hot night in Cleveland Circle. Bryan Duffy hit a 2-run double, and that was all Farrar needed. Anderson kept South Boston close, but The Hoss made big pitches when he needed them to get the victory.

Rookie Rich Dumas earned his fourth victory of the season in a hard-fought game with the Dodgers. Philson drove in two with a bases loaded double to the gap, and Conner has yet another multi-hit game. Bart Lawyer starts at second base and has a painful night, getting hit by a pitch in each of his two at-bats. Dumas goes five, and strikes out four giving way to fellow rookie Cory Burtman for the sixth. Jay Wisner picks up his league-leading eight save and finishes things off.

The Dodgers continue their winning streak and get some big hits to win 9-6 vs. Medford.

Dodgers 2B Andy Zides had a huge game with 2 HR (led of 2nd and another with one on in the 3rd), and the offense added 4 2B (3 in a row - 4th) by RF Joe Patrolia, C Bryan Duffy (3 RBI) and 3B Matt Jack, and 1B Zvi Dubitzky led off with a 2B). Every starter reached base.

Brookline starter Marty Whitmore cruised until some trouble in the 5th, as the Medford offense had at one point 5 straight baserunners. Lefty Scott MacDonald relieved Whitmore with 1 out in the 5th, and got a pop up and a K to leave the bases loaded. In the 6th, MacDonald (W 1-0) was relieved with the bases loaded and one in, two out by Marc Skipper. Skipper got Maguire to fly out, and the threat was again kept to a minimum. Skip would allow 2 hits to start the 7th, then Shaun Farrar (no rest) closed the door, starting a DP to end it and get his first save of the season.

The Dodgers put together 5 hits in the top of the 7th plating 3 and Shaun Farrar pitched a complete game 2 hitter as Brookline defeats the Brighton Sox 4-1.

Farrar (4-5) dominated, striking out 5 and allowed only 1 run en route to his 7th complete game this season. 'Hoss' was effective, keeping his pitch count under 80 and walking none.

The game was tied 1-1 until the top of the 7th, when C Bryan Duffy hit a leadoff triple down the left field line. After a strikeout, 2B Andy Zides hit a single over the 3rd baseman, scoring Duffy, the eventual game winning run. The Dodgers kept hitting, and added another two runs on RBI singles by RF Gregg Smith and CF Jay Shatto. SS Jerrad Ryan had a big steal in the 1st to score on a Shatto infield single to grab a 1-0 lead.

JT Ross pitched great for the Sox, and allowed only 3 hits going into the 7th, striking out 8.

Brookline comes through with its biggest win of the year, when they needed it most, with a 9 to 6 win over Somerville at Trum Field.

Marc Skipper (1-1) pitched six innings of 6-hit ball, striking out only 2, but keeping the Somerville bats off balance. Skip got a lot of help from his defense, getting 3 double plays from his infield. LF Marty Whitmore took the hill for the 7th and got a double play from 2B Andy Zides to SS Jerrad Ryan to 1B Zvi Dubitzky to end a heavy threat. 3B Matt Jack made the catch of the season to rob a scorcher from SS Dave Scioli (3 for 4, 2 3B, 2 RBI) in the 5th.

All around great win for Brookline. Zides, Whitmore & CF Jay Shatto all had 2 RBI. RF Steve Walsh, the Dodgers hottest bat, had 2 hits in the win. Whitmore & C Bryan Duffy added a double each.

The Dodgers had 8 hits, incluiding 4 hits in a row in the 3rd off SP Steve Szathmary. They also added 3 more steals for a league leading 61.

Great pitching and solid defense bring the Dodgers their second straight win. Steve DeFusco pitched 5 strong, and Steve Walsh and Scott McDonald finished off the last two innings. Ben Lupatkin, Jerrad Ryan (4 SB's, R), & Marty Whitmore (2 RBI's, R) each had 2 hits, and Bryan Duffy added a solo shot for his second homerun of the season. Jay Shatto also added a hit for the Dodgers with 2 SB's & a run.

Boczkowski had 3 walks a hit, an SB & scored 2 runs, while Mikolajewski, and Lopez each had a hit, and Flynn went 7 strong innings on the mound.
