Adam Kulis took the bump "angry" last night and did just fine. Adam had some difficulties @ work and took his frustrations out on the Royals by allowing ony 1 unearned run and 3 scratch hits in 5 innings pitched. 19 year olds Joe Ceurvals and Dean Sandonato pitched the 5th & 6th to garner this huge win.

It is not OVAH for the Beacons, who MUST WIN against Brookline on Sunday in order to secure a spot in the 2007 YBL Championship Tournament. THEN it could only be a tie and a Play In Game on Tuesday. BUT - it is what it is and they just MUST WIN on Sunday!

The West Roxbury v McKay Club rivalry took on a very different color last night. Not only are each team fighting for a playoff spot - they are fighting for first place in the Tarpey Conference. The Beacons resurected their hopes against Southie the night before with a come-from-behind shocker. Last night the Beacons took control from the first inning and held on to keep their playoff/first place hopes alive.

MVP - Dan Ciocca did it again. Dan has led the team in guts all year long and took the bump for his 2nd KEY start in 4 days. He held WR to 6 hits and 2 earned runs in a 6.1IP performance. Chris Dean went 4-4 and had 3 huge RBI to lead the offence for Beacons.

Once again - the McKay Club lives another day!

Sheer Madness! Southie took a 5-0 lead that did not hold up at Ronan last night. It was a do-or-die night for Beacons as they trugged thru the 1st 4 innings of play. Rob Stephenson led the way for SB with a mamouth 2 run homer to deep left center field. McKay Club was dead in the water until some defensive mistakes allowed them back into the game.

Beacons scored all their 8 runs in the last 3 innings.

Shawn Raposo smashed a 2RBI single and Jack Owens stole home to win the game after Beacons were behind once again in the bottom of the 7th (7-4). A comback that allows the Beacons to live another day.

The McKay Club pulls off a big win in a great contest at Towne Field. Kilduff pitches well, going six plus and striking out eight, but the Rockies offenses didn’t produce when it counted. McKay took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 7th, where rookie-of-the-year candidate Pete John blasted a towering pinch-hit homer out of Towne to cut the lead to one. The potential story-booking finish ended there as Ciocca struck out the next two Rockies batters to end the contest.

Yawkey League Baseball: Tense, frustrating, teeth gnashing, nerve racking, dramatic, hearbreaking and thrilling.

This game had it all. 3 double plays, 9 outfield outs, 19 hits, 23 assists, a rundown, a balk, a sacrafice bunt, intentional walks, an attempt to hit an IBB pitch, extra innings and a walk off game winning base hit.

In the bottom of the eighth with a runner at 2B, with one out, Savin Hill's DH Dave Bonnell tried to duplicate his 20 year ago famous slap hit of an IBB pitch that won a playoff game.

But alas, not this time as the McKay Club was alert to the play. This set up Rookie catcher, Nate Hodor, who with two out an two strikes blasted the walk off hit deep down the right field line for the dramtic come from behind win.

The 24 year rivalry between McKay Club v Brighton Sox still has some steam. Beacons took an early lead 3-0, but lost that margin when Sox plated 3 in the 3rd.

19 year old Dean Sandanato held on thru 5IP, but was removed in favor of relief artist Ryan Thomas, who was shaky but affective to seal the win.

Dan Cioca has picked up the Club all year long. Dan went 3 for 4 with 4 RBI. Rob Linn continued his hot hitting: 2 for 4 & 3 runs scored. John Pagel had the game winning 2 out double plating 3 huge runs in the top of the 7th.

Round two of Christina/Sullivan in front of the Comcast cameras at Ronan. This time it was Christina and the Brewers that came out on top in what turned out to be a great, old fashioned pitcher's duel (as expected).
The key hit was provided by the well-tanned veteran, A.J. Vacanti. In the bottom of the sixth and with the bases loaded and two out, Vacanti lined a 2-2 pitch past the diving shortstop to drive in the games only two runs.

Somerville Alibrandis 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 7 2
McKay Club Beacons 3 0 3 1 0 0 x 7 8 0

It's tough to defeat Somerville. Only way is to hit well; play defensive ball and do not let them into or back into the game. Beacons did just that @ Ronan. Mike Barthell was his old nasty self. He pitched 7 innings gave up an unearned run and rolled grounder after grounder for his 1st win of '07.

Barthell was assisted by the hot stick of Rob Linn: 3 for 3 - 2 rus scored 2RBI and a smash for a 1st inning solo HR (#2 in '07). Dan Ciocca added a smash in the 1st for a 2 run HR. He leads the team w/15RBI. Ciocca was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.

Poor defence has plagued the Beacons all year. BUT - they pulled off 4 tremendous double plays to assist their pitcher. Good win against the best team in the YBL!

Rob Linn struck a solo homer in the first going 3 for 4 with 2RBI & 2 runs scored. Dana Levensaler was 2 for 4 - 2RBI and 2 runs scored. St. Mark's v St. Margaret's. Tri-District v Mill Stream. Savin Hill v McKay Club continues a historic Dorchester rivalry in baseball. This 35 year legacy brings much to the table. Veterans like Dave Bonnell & John Pagel both in their 40's can tell the tales of bigon years.

Friday night was a rekindling of that ancient Dot Rat rivalry. The names have been changed - but the story is a vibrant one of competition between the white lines. An all out war took place at Town Field. McKay Club prevailed against the plucky Hornets. Beacons scored 5 runs in the 6th off Chris Alden and Ryan Thomas expunged a 5th inning Hornet rally to garner the win for McKay Club.
