The West Roxbury v McKay Club rivalry took on a very different color last night. Not only are each team fighting for a playoff spot - they are fighting for first place in the Tarpey Conference. The Beacons resurected their hopes against Southie the night before with a come-from-behind shocker. Last night the Beacons took control from the first inning and held on to keep their playoff/first place hopes alive.

MVP - Dan Ciocca did it again. Dan has led the team in guts all year long and took the bump for his 2nd KEY start in 4 days. He held WR to 6 hits and 2 earned runs in a 6.1IP performance. Chris Dean went 4-4 and had 3 huge RBI to lead the offence for Beacons.

Once again - the McKay Club lives another day!

The Rockies and Devils lock up for another close one in 2007. Rockies' All Star right-hander Tom Levett strikes out a season-high nine batters as he moves to 4-1. He lowers his ERA to under 1 as he goes 6 1/3 innings for the win, scattering 3 hits and picking off 2 baserunners.

Leadoff hitter Pete John (2-3, SB) scored in the first on an error and doubled in the other Rockies run in the second. That's where the scoring ended as West Roxbury's Putney settled down and would not allow another runner to cross the plate.

Closer Jason Wisner shut the door with one on in the 7th, striking out both batters he faced en route to his league leading sixth save. Chad Conner was 2-3 on the day for Revere; Marion and Cary were both 1-2 with a walk for the Devils.

Jerrad Ryan pitched 6 shutout innings and CF Jay Shatto had the big catch to end the game, as the Dodgers defeated the Devils 3-2 at King Field.

Ryan relieved SP Marc Skipper to start the 2nd and never looked back, shutting down the Devils, who took a 2-0 lead on 1B Phil Davies single(2-2, 2 RBI) off of Skipper. Ryan walked 1(Davies Intentionally), struck out 1, and got 10 flyball outs for his first victory (1-0) of '07 in a great performance.

With 1 out in the 7th, Dodgers CF Jay Shatto robbed Devils' RF Eric Belcher in the left-center gap with a remarkable diving grab, doubling up the potential tying run at 2nd base for the out and the win. 1B Zvi Dubitzky and RF Matt Donoghue both went 2 for 3, and Shatto had a 2 RBI single in the 2nd. C Bryan Duffy and DH Marty Whitmore also added hits.

In a very well played game by both teams, Brookline gets it's 2nd win in 16 hours on another gutsy pitching performance.

Sean Gildea improved his record to 3-0 with a complete game 4 hit, 3 walk, 8 strike out effort.

He was aided by three defensive web gems. Mike Maguire made two diving plays, the last one a double play as the runner on 2nd base took off for third thinking, as everyone else at the park was, that the ball was in the gap for extra bases.

The third gem was 2nd baseman Johnny Cunningham's dive up the middle. He tossed it to shortstop, Buddy Hanley, who made a 360 and threw out the runner.

The Dog's offense was led by Joe Sheehan with 3 hits and Maguire, Pasciucco and Cunningham each with 2.
