Matt Bishop, Mike Rigazio and Tim Dunphy combined to pitch the Cassell Club to it's first ever I.C.L. championship. Dunphy came in the game in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and 1 out and got an inning inning double play on a spectacular diving catch by Chuck Sheehan. Cassell had 6 players with 2 hits apiece, spearheaded by All Stars, Zach Golden, Josh Klimkiewicz and Jeff Paquette, who combined for 6 rbi's. Jay Olson had 2 hits for Watertown while Brian Shapiro pitched well in relief.

Mike Rigazio came in relief in the 4th inning and worked out of a bases loaded, 1 out situation with the scored tied and Cassell rallied to score a 5-3 victory eliminating the game Wakefield Merchants. Rigazio recorded 8 strike outs in 3.2 innings including 6 straight at one stretch. Tim Dempsey had 2 hits for Cassell and Taylor Von Kriedenberg had 2 for Wakefield.

The game wasn't settled until the last of the seventh inning when all star Jeff Paquette singled and all star Tim Dempsey doubled to left center scoring Paquette.
