The Dodgers win their 10th of the season, and it was their 3rd walkoff this year as well. Gerry Ramsey singled in Jeff Jalovec in the bottom of the 8th to take the victory 7-6 over a very tough Cambridge team. This was also after a wild 7th, in which Matt Nussbaum scored on a wild pitch on a 3-2 count with 2 outs, but Andy Zides failed to touch first base on the walk, and was called out on an appeal.
Shaun Farrar gutted out a great performance for all 8 innings overcoming a few early unearned runs to win his 2nd of the year. The Dodger offense kept battling back against a good performance by Gillette, who struck out 10, but ended up with the tough loss.
Jalovec and Ramsey led Brookline's offense with 3 hits a piece. Jeff had a 1B, 2B, and a 3B with 2 RBI's & 3 runs, and Ramsey had 3 hard hit 1Bs with the game winning RBI. Jay Shatto also added 2 hits with 3 RBI's.
C. Neil, J. Tufo & D. Caceres each had 2 hits for the Spinners. |

Talal Saleh improved to 4-0 going the distance against Cambridge. Talal walked 4 and struck out 5. Talah was helped out by flawless defense. Cambridged threatened to break it open in the third inning, with men on first and second and no outs the Dogs turned the 6-4-3 double play.
Sablone had two doubles and Maguire had 2 hits for Medford.
Cunningham caught a tremendous game, throwing out a runner at first and nabbing a runner at the plate on a wild pitch attempt.
Bo Gillette pitched a great game for Cambridge, going the distance and striking out 5. Chris Neil hit a home run that went no more than 140 feet. It was a hard line drive down the right field line and it got lost in the tall grass long enough for Neil to motor around the bases. |

It was nice to be playing ball even thought it was a very chilly evening at the ball park.
The brave fans, wrapped in blankets, weathered the biting chill and saw a close ball game as two outstanding pitchers duked it out in the frosty night air.
Savin Hill pitcher Kris Aldins struck out 7 and walked two while Cambridge Spinner pitcher Casey struck out 9 Hornets but gave up 8 base on balls.
In the old baseball parlance, walks kill, and that they did on this night. |
