Rookie Dan McCarthy made his first YBL hit a memorable one as he singled home Jim Flavin with the winning run in the bottom of the 7th.
West Roxbury climbed back with 3 runs in the top of the 7th to take a 6-5 lead. Greg Lovely tripled to open the last frame for Al Thomas and scored on a bloop single by Jim Flavin to tie the game. Matt Hallisey followed with a single and both runners moved up on a ground out to first. McCarthy then laced a 1-1 pitch into the hole at short for the game winner.
John Kostas picked up the win, scattering a plethora of hits and fanning 8 in the complete game.

An ugly game. 21 walks, 3 hit batters and 4 errors to go along with 20 hits. Is it any wonder that the lights went out before the 7th inning could be completed.
Mike Hudd came in to pitch in the 3rd inning and went into the 6th to record his first win of the season. Eamonn McDonough, pitching for the third night in a row got the save by getting the last 2 batters in the 6th.
Mike Maguire singled, doubled and tripled. He also knocked in 4 and scored 3 times. Johnny Cunningham went 2 for 2 with 3 walks and 3 runs scored. Buddy Hanley had a double and 3 RBI's and Jay Sablone had a hit and a walk and scored twice.
Brian Powers had a perfect night for the A's with 3 hits and 2 walks. |

Heeeee's back!!! The "Big E" Dog, Eamonn McDonough returned today from basic training and threw a complete game, allowing two earned runs on 6 hits and 1 walk. He struck out 3 along the way.
Marc Crovo, Jay Sablone and Buddy Hanley each had 2 hits to pace the Medford attack. Hanley,who has been almost flawless this year at short, started a double play in the 5th and threw a runner out at third for the second out in the 7th.
Moores hit a bomb to left field that landed in the trees beyond the fence. |

John Kostas allowed 1 earned run in 6 innings to earn his 3rd victory in a row as the A's bounced back to beat South End 9-4.
Kostas scattered 6 hits and struck out 12 batters, and added 2 rbi's to the offense, as 7 Al Thomas players drove in runs. Jim Flavin had 2 hits in the 7-run 4th inning.

Aidan Powers threw 6 strong innings to pick up his 5th win of the season as the A's beat the Saints 12-3. Powers struck out 8 in scattering 6 hits. Jim Flavin tossed a scoreless 7th to close out the victory.
Powers also helped his own cause with 3 hits and 2 rbi, while Flavin, Greg Lovely and Chuck Killens also banged out 3 hits apiece to pace the 17-hit attack. Chris Malloy added 2 hits and 3 runs scored.
Tenney, Paula and O'Reilly each had 2 hits for South Boston. |

Brighton Braves 14, AlThomas Athletics 12
Both offenses were on display as the Braves were outhit by Al Thomas 15-14 but managed to come out on top with the 14-12 win. Down 7-4 going in the 6th, Al Thomas plated 8 runs off Brooks-Ramsdell to take the lead. The Braves came right back in the bottom of the inning with 5 runs of thier own to reclaim the lead for good. Brooks-Ramsdell made up for the 6th by getting Al Thomas 1-2-3 in the 7th for his first win of the year. Ouellette led the way for the Braves going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, 3 runs and 5 RBI. Liam Powers, Killens and Kostas all had 3 hits for the A's. |

John Kenny picked up his first win of the year with 6 solid innings of 5-hit ball, and added 3 hits to help the A's beat the Braves 12-3.
Greg Lovely went 4-4 with 3 runs and 2 rbi, Chris Bucci went 3-3 with 3 runs, 2 rbi and 3 stolen bases, and Mark Daly went 2-3. Andy Doyle went 1-1 before reaggravating an injury; Andy Hambleton drove in 3 runs, and Chris Malloy added a hit and was hit by a pitch for the 5th time in 6 games.
Accetta pitched well in relief for Brighton. |

John Kostas scattered 4 hits over 6 innings as the A's beat Roslindale 6-3. Paul Bonner pitched a perfect 7th for his first save of the year.
Brian Powers had 3 hits and scored 3 times, while Aidan Powers singled twice and drove in 3 runs. Chris Bucci singled in a pair of runs early to get the offense going, while Greg Lovely made several outstanding plays at short.
Chris Santuososso led the Bluefish with a couple of hits, while O'Shea pitched well in defeat. |

Jim Schindler singled in John Kenny in the bottom of the 7th as the A's put up 2 to sneak out with a 5-4 win.
Down a run, Al Thomas's Mark Daly led off the 7th with a walk and was sacrificed to second by Liam Powers. Kenny doubled him home to tie the game and set up Schindler's game-winning hit inside the first-base line.
Aidan Powers pitched a complete game for his 4th win of the season, yielding 1 earned run in outdueling Roslindale's Lembrecht.
Jim Flavin singled twice for the A's, while Matt Hallisey singled, doubled and drove in a pair. Pat McGann doubled in Peter Moores, who had singled, in the 3rd inning.
Creveling had 2 hits for the Bluefish, while Spitz singled and drove in the go ahead run in the 7th with a sacrifice fly. |
