The Spinners forced a fifth and final game Thursday night with a 10-9 win over the Bombers to tie the series at two games apiece. Down 9-8 in the sixth, Tyler Bailey doubled and scored two runs to take the lead for Cambridge. Alex Benson led the offense with three hits, including a triple in the fourth inning.

Mario Padovani came on in relief for the win, pitching three and two thirds innings with a pair of strikeouts and recording the last two outs of the game.

Hector Coscione has three hits and drove in three runs while Hector Pelliiot had two hits and scored twice.

The Spinners staved off elimination with a 3-0 extra inning win over the Boston Bombers. Ricky Salvia reached on an error and scored on an Adam Johnson single. Drew Risk singled and scored Tyler Bailey and Alex Benson.

Dan Blum went the distance, pitching a complete game shutout with four strikeouts.

For the third time in the last five games, the Boston Bombers erased a late-game deficit and came from behind for a 4-1 victory over the host Cambridge Spinners at Pine Banks Field in Malden.

Mario Padovani and Anthony Del Prete traded zeroes all night, both turning in stellar complete game performances on the mound.

David Lightbody tied things up in the top of the 4th with a clutch RBI single, and would later score on Marc Desroches' go ahead single in the 7th. Jonny Hayes would add the insurance with a 2-out single plating Doc and Pellot.

Ricky Salvia reached base 3 times for the Spinners and stole a base on a perfect night at the plate for Cambridge.

The Bombers now lead the best of 5 series 2-0 and will look to close out their 4th league title on Tuesday at Maplewood.

Bombers take the early 1-0 lead in this best of 5 Championship Final with a 9-3 victory over the visiting Cambridge Spinners at Morelli Field in Melrose.

Hector Coscione and David Lightbody launched 3-run home runs in the 1st and 3rd innings to propel the Bombers offense.

Jonathan Matos went the distance, scattering 5 hits and yielding only 1 earned run to pick up his first postseason win as a Boston Bomber.

Juan Parra and Ted Dziuba each chipped with a pair of hits and 2 runs scored.

Bombers jump out to a 1-0 lead in their BMBL semi-final matchup with the Somerville Senators with a 12-1 victory on a rainy Sunday at Malden Catholic.

Mike Maguire's storybook season continues in the playoffs, setting the tone on the first play of the game by robbing Senators Slugger Ari Glantz of a home run deep in the right center gap, and then adding 3 hits and 3 runs at the plate.

George Ziegler tossed a complete game to notch his first postseason win as a Boston Bomber. Zieg battled the elements, striking out 7 and surrendering only 1 unearned run.

Lightbody, Desroches and Borghi combined for 8 RBI on the day, and Teddy Dziuba scored 4 times.

Dave Martin reached 3 times on a perfect night at the plate for Somerville, while Sal Mendonca tossed a clean frame in the 7th, even though he stinks.

Bombers used the longball to advance to the BMBL Semi-Finals with a 9-1 win over the visiting Bay State Pirates.

Kevin O'Hara (3 RBI), Juan Parra (4 RBI) and David Lightbody all launched dingers as part of a 14-hit barrage that also saw Dziuba, Desroches and Borghi tally multi-hit performances.

Starter Bryan Saffelle notched his 8th playoff victory in a Bombers uniform, tossing 5 scoreless innings and striking out 4.

Nate Fishman capped another solid campaign at the plate with a 3-hit day.

The #1 seed Bombers await their semi-final opponent as the remaining BMBL squads face-off in today's opening round matchups.

Anthony Del Prete went the distance on the bump for the Bombers, striking out 4 in victory. Pirates starter Nate Fishman also went the distance, limiting the Bombers bats and scattering only 4 earned runs.

MVP Candidate Mike Maguire plated the eventual game-winner with a 4th inning double that drove in catcher Mike Mori. Marc Desroches put things out of reach for good with a double of his own that plated Mags and Dziuba to put the Bombers ahead by 5.

Bombers look to advance on Sunday morning in a Pirates elimination game at Maplewood Park.

For the second time in a week, the BMBL's reigning Cy Young Award Winner Bryan Saffelle (4-2) kept a stout Spartans lineup at bay, scattering 4 hits over 5 IP to give the visiting Bombers a 3-1 victory at Fallon Field in Roslindale.

Spartans got on the board early with a Chris Deane 2B to LF scoring Mike Smith in the 1st. That lead was erased in the top half of the 2nd by a 2-out 2-run single by Juan Parra.

Hector Pellot had a multi-hit game for the Bombers, who would add an insurance run on a Mike Borghi ground out in the 4th.

Mike Maguire made yet another game-saving catch, laying out in CF to save a pair of runs.

David Lightbody's walk-off ground rule double in the bottom half of the 6th inning capped a 3-hit, 5-RBI night for the 3-time League MVP as he led the host Bombers to an 11-0 win against the visiting South Shore Spartans.

Catcher Mike Mori added 3 RBI's for the 2nd place Bombers, who also received multi-hit games from Kevin O'Hara and the squad's pair of former NY Mets draftees Hector Pellot and Teddy Dziuba.

Bryan Saffelle (3-2) tossed 5 shutout innings for the win.

Bryan Curran paced the Spartans offense, going 2-3 with a 2B.

Mike Maguire's leaping grab in Center Field with the bases loaded and the tying run on 1st base in the top half of the 5th inning proved to be the difference maker as the Bombers fended off a tough Senators squad 7-4 on a rainy night down at The Wood.

Mags also chipped in with 3 of the Bombers 7 runs scored. Doc Desroches drove in 2.

For the Senators, Darren Hartwell added a 2B, 2 RBI and a SB. Mike Addesa and Sal Mendonca both had multi-hit games for Somerville.

Bombers record improves to 10-2-1 with Somerville firmly in playoff contention at 9-6

Two good teams faced off on a sunny day at Maplewood Park with the host Bombers walking away with a 6-0 victory against the visiting Cambridge Spinners.

George Ziegler and Jon Matos kept the potent Spinners lineup at bay, combining for a 1-hit shutout. Spinners ace Dan Blum pitched well but took the tough luck loss as the Bombers were able to capitlize on some early defensive miscues.

Mike Borghi's 2-run double in the 6th put the game away for good, improving the Bombers records to 9-2-1.

Reigning Cy Young Award winning Bryan Saffelle settled in for his first win of the season, striking out 7 en route to the complete game victory.

Kevin O'Hara provided the pop for the Bombers offense, driving in 4 and legging out an inside the park home run. Nate Laliberte, Mike Maguire and David Lightbody all had multi-hit games and drove in a pair.
