What a way to end a disappointing season.
Adam Messom, captain of the team , goes out and fires his second no hitter in three years.

It looked like it was going to be a special night from the beginning after Adam struck out the side to end the game.
After 3 scoreless innings Paul D'Agostino lead of with a single to left and Messom came to the plate and lasered a 2-run homer to the right center gap to give the Cardinals the lead.
Good defense and hitting by the Cardinals set it up in the seventh where Messom finished the Hurricanes off by striking out the side.
Greg Curtis capped the offense off by lacing a 2-run triple down the left field line, Curtis finished the season with a hit in every game played (16). Billy Piacatelli also contributed with a pair of hits and also gave the team a scare when he took a Curtis line drive off the head while leading do |

Two struggling teams fought a gritty battle.
Good pitching performances by both teams, with both pitchers going the route.
Defense played the story in this game, most of the runs scored were when either side lapsed on the defense with miscues.
Hurricanes swiped a run in the top of the 7th to tie the game.
Bottom of the 7th after 2 quick outs John Pigott
is HBP and steals second , with 2 strikes Keith Scalese laces a game winning hit to left center.
Scalese ended up 2-3 with game winning rbi

WP MESSOM 2-3 LP WATERS
Terrific performance by Arlington captain
and winning pitcher Adam Messom. Complete game on the hill , recording 13 outs before allowing a hit. He struck out 9 and allowed 0 earned runs.
Overall Arlington played great defense behind him
despite making the 4 errors, highlighted by the play of second baseman Paul D'Agostino assisting on 6 outs and recording 2 putouts w/o an error.
The offense threatened early and often but could not get on the board until the 5 th, where they put up a 6 spot. Messom scored 2 runs, Curtis knocked in a pair with a pair of hits. Overall great team victory putting the team back in the playoff race. |

WP BENNETT 1-0 LP Waters
Franchise debut by Arlington Cardinals was a success. This was a hard fought battle and tight game the whole way. Despite the undermanned Cubs
who only had 9 players showing up, one of whom had a cast on and then to lose another man due to a broken wrist sliding into second in the 4 th, this team built a 3-0 lead after 6.
The Cardinals finally woke up in the late innings with 8th inning doubles from Grande and Messon followed up by the clutch game winning single by rookie Eric Doucette.
Messon pitched 5 strong inninings striking out 4 with no walks and no earned runs.
Then draftee Ray Bennett came in for the last 4 and shut the door allowing only one hit and picking up the win.
Arlington lost 2 players to ejections but played
a solid game as a team.
