Captain Ryan Flanagan goes the distance to even the best of 5 series at 1-1
Flanagan struck out 8 on 2 hits to earn the win.
A Curtis Tirone double, followed by an Agiorgousis Sac-Fly got the Sabers on the board first.
Agiorgousis would add another RBI single in the 5th, before Powers hit a clutch 2 RBI double.
Foote and Villa would help the Rockies cut the lead the to 2, but Flanagan was able to bear down.
The series shifts to Maplewood tomorrow night at 8PM. |

McKay would strike first in the 2nd. Vasquez would double off the wall and later score.

Saber come from behind in the 6th, on clutch hits by Grainger, Chapman and Barnes to tie the ball game.
In the 7th, Creamer would hit a go ahead RBI single, followed by a Luis Gil launched 2 RBI double for insurance.
The Braves threatened with the bases loaded and 2 outs, but Tirone was able to bear down for the Save.
White earns his first win of the season.
Moreno had a HR in the loss for Brighton.

Christopher Monroe spins a complete game gem to win a pitcher's duel 2-0.
Monroe doesn't allow a runner to reach second base and scattered 4 hits, while striking out 7 to earn his 3rd win of the season.
The game was a stalemate until Josh Doyle would smash a game winning 2 RBI triple. The triple was set up by a Barnes leadoff bunt single and Chapman single.
Shaw pitched well in the loss for Southie.

Curtis Tirone led the Saber offense with 2 hits and 4 RBI. Stoneham also had great hitting performances out of Hodor, Gil and Miller.
In the 6th, a Gil walk and Hodor double, set up Tirone's game winning 2RBI double.
Chris Monroe with a great pitching performance in relief to earn the win.

The Townies would get on the board first on a RBI single by Beradino.
The Sabers would battle back in the top half of the 6th. Hits by Powers and Colucci, would lead to two runs after two Townie miscues in the infield.
The Sabers would add two much needed insurance runs in the 7th, on a Powers' Sac Fly and Grainger RBI single.
The Townies battled back in the 7th, but left the tying run on second base.
Ryan Flanagan made a tremendous diving catch in the 6th, to steal a double away from the Townies.

Nick Powers throws a complete game shutout to win a pitcher's duel at Recreation Park
Powers struck out 11 Townies, while scattering 4 hits to earn his first win of the season.
Brendan Pittsley earned the tough luck loss, as he was great all afternoon, striking out 6 Sabers.
The Sabers would score their only run in the 3rd. Barnes would lead off with a walk and then steal second base. Sharpe would hit a hard grounder to move Barnes to 3rd, who would later score on a passed ball.
In a day where mother nature did not cooperate, Rec Park continued to be the most reliable field in amateur baseball.

Abe Grainger with the walk off hit for Stoneham, in a thrilling come from behind game in extra innings!
Ryan Flanagan tossed 7 strong innings, on 1 earned run, while striking out 7, to earn the tough luck no decision.
The Sabers would get out in front early, but the Braves would chip away to send the game into extra innings.
In the 8th, the Braves put up 5 runs on Stoneham's bullpen. However, Evan DaSilva was able to come in and stop the damage.
The Sabers bats came alive in the bottom half of extra innings. Leal, Grainger and Colucci recorded three hits in a row to begin the rally. Then down by three with 2 outs, the Sabers continued to grind out at bats to tie the game. Grainger would then deliver a long game winning walk off single.

YBL veteran Ryan Flanagan wins a pitcher's duel, to help the Sabers defeat the Dodgers 3-0
Tommy Merrick pitches well in his YBL debut for the Dodgers, but with no run support the Dodgers get their first loss of the season.
Ryan Flanagan got tough outs for Stoneham when there were runners on base and got the job done for the win. Flanagan tossed 6 shutout innings of baseball, while scattering 4 hits and striking out 4.
The Sabers broke the stalemate in the 5th. Jake Sharpe led off with a a walk, followed by a big double by Sean Curtin. Curtis Tirone would follow with a clutch 2RBI game winning single.
Zack Rice added an insurance RBI single in the 6th, to plate Pete Miller.

It was a pitchers duel at the "wood" on a chili May night. Cummings dominated for 6 innings for Stoneham while "Taka" and Monagle dominated for EBK. The Knights would get on the board for the 1st run of the game in the 6th inning on a long Sac Fly by Bret Samboy scoring Grofi Cruz. Although the pitching didn't need it, the Knights tacked on an insurance run in the top of the 7th on a safety squeeze by "Mikey-O" scoring Jose Paulino. Monagle would finish up his 4 innings of work by closing out the 7th with back to back strikeouts.

Curits Tirone led the offense with 2 hits, including a monster triple.
Rice had a clutch RBI bunt. Creamer's RBI single tied up the game in the 4th.
Creamer then nicely placed a bunt down the third base line, to set up Tirone's game winning RBI single in the 6th.
Panzini earned the save for Stoneham.
O'Connor had a RBI triple of his own and Sullivan pitched well in the loss for the Townies.
